This site is awesome. But its community is probably so mature because of the hobby itself. Dont get me wrong im not saying that you have to be older to enjoy retro games, i know there are several member younger than 14. But i believe to enjoy what makes good game so good, you need to be 'mentally mature' if that makes sense. Most gamers i know just go "ZOMG l0Ok @ teh GuNs and Gr4phics!!" To understand why Mario kart 64 can still to this day get everyone from the hardcore fanboy to your grandma enjoying themselves takes a different sort of intelligence.

Finally these forums rule because there are no damn internet memes. I hate them so much, Things cannot gramatically be a "fail". Answering everything with either "Spell check" or "Cool story bro" is not constructive or funny. Anyway rant over, this site takes 20mins of my life a day with its greatness.

seriously I love this forum. Best forum in the world. Every time I disagree with someone I always expect their counter post to be full of rage and insults, do to my experience with other forums, and yet everyone is always so nice and respectful. Even our trolls are better than other forum's trolls.

Something happen tonight that reminded me how awesome this community is. I was playing Goldeneye online and happened across cheaters. I was so enraged I Googled it and found some threads on the GameFAQ forums. I decided to post, which turned out to be a bad idea...

Take a look at that last post. It took some real strength not to reply. Damn kids having to cheat online. That combined with reading a few other threads made me very angry. Now I remember why I rarely play games online!

So yeah, this place is all sorts of awesome.

Man, that sucks. Cheaters have definitely ruined online play for me. It started with Mario Kart DS and ended with Street Fighter IV with many in-between. It really blows because its fun playing online and all it takes is one douchebag to ruin it for everyone. Nowadays I don't even play online anymore, I became so fed up with it I cancelled my Gold account in Sept. And you know its more than the cheating that ruined it for me. People have absolutely no class anymore. The immature & rude behavior, foul language and general lack of courtesy towards other players really turned me off to online play.

Well luckily there's no communication with the Wii. It's a shame cause when you're playing teams it'd be nice to be able to communicate, but in all, from everything I've heard about the communications on 360, I'm glad there isn't any for the Wii.

But that still doesn't mean people can't suck. Cheaters are the worst part, but then there's all the others that just don't play good games. I had to bite my tongue very hard and not post in those threads on the gameFAQ forums. One thread was literally, "Who else gets good K:D but no objective score?" This annoys me so much! Maybe even more so than cheaters! Why play a game mode, like capture the flag, if you're not gonna participate? If all you wanna do is kill, stick to tradition combat modes and stay out of the other game modes.

Sorry to go so far off topic, this just irks me so much! At least I can vent here. I made myself leave the GameFAQ forums and never check them again. I can post my feelings there, but to what point? I'm not about to get flamed by a bunch of kids.

I'll assume that its a Gamecube focused forum? Sounds pretty cool I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, it's pretty neat. I haven't checked out the actual forums but they have for Gamecube games what Snesorama does (can download games from upload sites).
