Yeah. Honestly, these kinds of posts always come off as a bit immature because it seems like these posters are considering only one very minor thing, whereas a functioning relationship is a lot more multi-faceted than being able to "game" with a girl. Hell, even a goddamn one-night stand is a lot more multi-faceted than whether a girl can share a hobby with you.Flake wrote:Agreed. Not being neurotic, a thief, a magnet for drama, or a source of misery are the primary concerns.GSZX1337 wrote:I figure it's better to post my thought here than to start a new thread that'll probably only get ~5 posts.
Am I the only one who doesn't give a shit about finding a girl who plays games?
Interest of games are only a tertiary bonus.
Any rational person who wants a relationship with a "gamer girl" should just consider it one consideration among an entire continuum of other non-gaming considerations. Here's an example:
1. Is she reasonably attractive? Yes / No.
2. Is she intelligent enough to hold a conversation about abstract concepts? Yes / No.
3. Does she follow the basic guidelines of hygiene? Yes / No.
4. Can she earn her own money, as opposed to sucking your wallet dry? Yes / No.
5. Is she, or has she even been, a man at any point in her life? Yes / No.
6. Does she have a prosthetic ass? Yes / No.
7. DOES SHE LIEK TEH VIDYA GAEMS? Yes / No.
Now, here's an experiment I designed to test whether being a "gamer girl" does indeed outweigh considerations 1-6 for these posters. Next time someone starts one of these threads, let's have someone PM him and pretend to be a gamer girl. Then when the time comes to swap pics, we send him this picture and see whether he's still interested:

I'm highly surprised at the lack of jokes at the OP
Not saying there should be more...I'm just surprised.

I'm a bit surprised too...but I think we're all a bit jaded because there were two other threads like this.KDub wrote:I'm highly surprised at the lack of jokes at the OP

Too bad you're spoken for already, Dsheinem. Otherwise, you know you'd be in line before me.dsheinem wrote:You know you'd destroy that, dedalusdedalus.dedalusdedalus wrote: http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com ... ouguys.jpg
But the point is, my decision wouldn't hinge on the sole consideration of whether she's a "gamer girl" or not.

Re: looking for romantic date with a gamer girl
You could just do what I did with my ex. Find a random girl and turn her into a gamer. She bought me 3 consoles as presents in our 4.5 year relationship.
Best games to get a girl into gaming (at least my ex liked them
):
Adventure games (Phoenix Wright, Syberia ect.ect)
Puzzle games (Tetris, Picross, Layton)
Platformers (Super Mario Galaxy, Little Big Planet, NSMBWii)
Mario Kart (seriously, everyone in the world loves this game)
Managing games (women are better than men at doing many things at the same time, so they love games like Simcity, The Sims ect. ect.)
and then there is the totally random stuff, which she liked like Excite Truck, Battlefield 1943 (I was totally shocked she liked that one)

True story. After she finished eating that, she turned into the Rubenesque woman that Dsheinem and I were just admiring.
Re: looking for romantic date with a gamer girl
Very hard to say, even I am looking for a lady that accepts my interests, though I think both of us don't have to agree on everything - respect and trust on both sides is what counts for me.
If you are at work, preferably where most of your colleagues are around the same age, and have similar background, you could try to get connect with some lady friends, and see if they know any girl that may share the same interest with you.
What you never should do is to drive around your local middle school or high school and ask young girls if they want to play Pokemon in the backseat of your car!
