I don't know why some people are getting upset about this release. Its obviously just a collectors item release. People love collecting useless Mario shit they've played a million times before. Nintendo knows this and they play off peoples love for Mario to resell them the same games over and over again.

Good for them, I wish I had the power to fool someone into buying same exact repackaged item over and over again. I already have Super Mario All Stars + World and the original releases. Thats all I need Nintendo, thanks anyway. I do admit though, releasing a complete 2D Mario collection with updated graphics would have gotten me to buy it.

Really, N could just plant the Mario name on anything and it would sell in droves. I personally preferred the NES releases so the VC games work for me, but this like any other Mario release will sell well.

My thought as soon as I read the title:

"Who the fuck isn't?"

Just an FYI, it looks like Amazon has stopped taking preorders.
Either they sold their allotted amount or something else.
I did hear a rumor that this was only going to be sold (to retailers) in 2010 none will ship from the Big N in 2011.
That may be a rumor but if it is true, then this may be a disappointment but definitely a collectible.

I was a bit disappointed myself. Only because I didn't educate myself before I bought it and had gotten my hopes up for something a little different. Hopefully it will become a collectible though.

We finally got them in my store, I wish I could buy it now though. It looks real beautiful, pics do not do it justice.

Since stores already have them, I don't understand why Amazon cant ship them out so those of us with prime can get them Monday... sigh.

Nobody's fooling anyone when the consumers are aware of what they're buying. Nintendo's been direct and upfront about what's in this collectors edition. It's going to be purchased for the fancy packaging and the little extras included, not for the repackaged games themselves. It's no different than the silly Halo 3 collector's edition. Anyone who bought it knew they were paying extra money for the same game everyone else was paying less for--but everyone else didn't get it packaged in Master Chief's helmet. At least this collection is cheaper than that.

Even so, I'll probably pass.
