mine like this is Nightmare On Elm St. on NES.J T wrote:Heh. I wasn't recommending you play Ninja Gaiden. I only use it as an example of a game that I know inside and out. I have memorized where every enemy will pop up and where every cliff is going to be. It's all very familiar and I can (mostly) whiz right through it, though it is still challenging enough to hold my attention. You just need a similar comfort game that you can sink right into and enjoy.Veno wrote: I'll also give everyones suggestions a try, even Tetris. Maybe not Ninja Gaiden...

I used to be able to play that way with Ninja Gaiden 2 on the NES, my personal favoritenoiseredux wrote:mine like this is Nightmare On Elm St. on NES.J T wrote:Heh. Mega Man X4. I used to know that game inside and out. I could plow through the bosses in any order with Zero. Didn't even need to use heart tanks, etanks or exploit enemy weaknesses

Guitar Hero on Drums. Expensive but it allows you to actually beat on something. Better to slam a stick down, rather than throw a fist in the wall. (Though that is fun too)
Another good choice is Call of Duty: World at War, campaign mode. That's just me.

Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

Doom. no nonsense, no bullshit, just pure unadulterated carnage.
GTA: Vice City used to work pretty well too. I love just driving around and listening to all the awesome 80s music while I wreak havoc on unsuspecting civilians.

Without a doubt, the most fun is smashing the guy in Gyromite with a pipe. It's amazing.

Yes, and I'm also surprised that nobody has mentioned playing death race on F-Zero X, killing every terrible voice actor from the F-Zero series in under 2 minutes.cubingmelons wrote:Doom. no nonsense, no bullshit, just pure unadulterated carnage.

Rez and Lumines always chill me out.
Re: Anger relieving games
I don't really use games for anger relief (heck, they can have the opposite effect), but I've always found Kirby games to be fun and relaxing. I'm actually surprised that nobody's mentioned them yet.

I'm just as surprised that no one said Sonic yet. I always love playing the first stage of any 2d sonic gameDylan wrote:I don't really use games for anger relief (heck, they can have the opposite effect), but I've always found Kirby games to be fun and relaxing.
