Does the game's case still have the title on the spine without the spine card? As in, can I see what game it is on the shelf without owning the spine card or would I have to pull out the game to see what it is?

The title is usually printed on both the spine card, and on the spine under it. I don't know of any exceptions.

Alright. Thanks. I've seen games for sale that don't have the spine card but not getting the card doesn't really bother me that much. Keeping the spine card kinda seems like keeping most of the shrink wrap on one of today's games.

Yeah, the title is still under there normally. The spine card (aka the obi) sometimes has promo blurbs and release date information. Sometimes the UPC is only printed on the spine card and not on the back artwork as well. As for the little plastic resealable baggies, Japanese items are often put into them instead of having shrink wrap. Keeping the obi is more like keeping the stickers that would be stuck on the shrink wrap on US stuff. Say like the stickers that tell you a game is the LE version or one on an audio CD telling you the album contains whatever top 40 single.

I guess I won't be paying an extra $10 on games to make sure I get the spine card.

Agreed. I've gotten a lot out of this thread.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
