Played it a couple hours ago. It's excellent. Only issues with it being that it's tough to see enemies and I encountered some slowdown on 1-2 on Fastest mode.

I'm not sure any publisher would ever allow such a thing.

Has the 'pain in the ass' portion of the Sonic Fan community come out to denounce this game yet? Are Sonics eyes too green or just green enough?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

That's why I included the first part of my sentence:

Darnit, selective reading apologies   Sonic is quite iconic, most other 16-bit knock-offs have been forgotten altogether. We'd rather have a fantastic fangame than an obscure indie platformer :) One thing I keep wishing for in fangames is S3&K-type storytelling, a minimalistic approach that gives the game some meaning without making a tedious Adventure out of it.

Maybe. . . but if this guy could sell his creation it might compel him to finish it or make sequels. I could overlook a character like "Bubonic the blowfrog" if it played just like Sonic and I'm sure a lot of other people would too. I'd rather spend my money on a game that plays like the classics than another werewolf knockoff from sega that is sonic in name alone.

Wow very impressive. I'm just at a loss as to how this is so good, yet Sonic 4 is just so terrible. This is made by a couple of guys? Or just one guy? Anyway, they get the physics spot on and the level design is just right. Yet Sonic Team completely fudge Sonic 4? How is that even possible? Were Sonic Team just fingering their arseholes through the entire development of Sonic 4? What happened to them postponing the release date so they could fix the control issues? Why has absolutely fuck all been changed?

Is Sonic 4 THAT bad? I played the demo. It just felt like a Sonic game....which was what I was expecting.

It's enjoyable, but not the Sonic game most have been waiting for. Main issue, for me, are the physics. The Sonic games on Game Gear feel more spot-on than 4.
