Actually, then CAN be used as donor carts.
I've read various threads about these "dead carts" and have always wondered about them. I've been thinking about making a thread in the BST forum to request people's broken carts. I have never came across a dead cart myself, and I have a couple hundred. I want to know what's up with them.
If you're gonna throw away a dead cart, I would love to take it off your hands.
Ziggy did you have any luck with the one I sent you? I have one or two more dead GB carts if yr interested.

Right now, it seems my copy of FF Legend II is dead. I have the official Nintendo GB cleaning kit and tried it to no avail. I've also tried warm water on the PCB. Nothing.
In the past when I've just accepted the carts are gone, I've thrown them out. I hated doing so though. I threw out Sneaky Snakes and Galaga/Galaxian. It felt awful. Y'know... "the Game Boy guy" throwing out GB games. It's weird.
So before I throw out FFL2... can anyone think of anything useful I could do with the cart so that it doesn't just end up at the dump?
You could make a belt buckle out of it and keep it alive for ever...UNless it is the rerelease made by sunsoft or whatever..just pitch that thing!

I actually haven't done anything with it yet from a lack of time. I have yours and two others that I got from other forum members, I just haven't had the time yet to mess around with them.
