You would be surprised how many questions you can answer with Google. I had the same question and just typed in "what is fwb", starting with the second results to the end of the page answered my question. I've done that type of search a lot when you have people in forums using acronyms that I'm not familiar with.the King wrote:Niode wrote:Can somebody please define what a FWB is?Hatta wrote:Sounds like you have an FWB instead of a GF there. That's not entirely a bad thing.

Re: What a hectic couple of weeks
Perhaps I am out of line, but it seems like the fact you lost a 5 year relationship with your ex-fiance is far more tragic than you being led on for a week by some bimbo.
You are probably just desperate to get back into a relationship or trying to prove to yourself that you are desirable to the opposite sex (especially if your current break up was a serious blow to your self esteem).
Just take it easy, rethink your priorities and get back into the game. Just don't waste your time on those who waste yours.

Yikes!
First the reminder of a lost relationship, then calling him desperate, and then ending by questioning his priorities? Whew.
Niode just did something to rub her the wrong way. Don't read too much into it. She's not wrong, neither is he.

probably appeared too eager. i swear to god the instant you start showing the slightest bit of reciprocation of interest and BAM, you are a sweet guy and we should just be friends.
what they always mean is, you are a sweet guy and we should just be friends, because i'd rather have someone beat me up a bit, in and out of the sack.
fuck this girl, niode. i'm pissed off and i had nothing to do with the entire situation short of reading it.

Well Katie and I split up in June. It wasn't working out, there wasn't any bad blood between us we just decided it had run it's course. No point being in a relationship that neither of us particularly cared for no matter how convenient it was for us to be together.saturnfan wrote:Perhaps I am out of line, but it seems like the fact you lost a 5 year relationship with your ex-fiance is far more tragic than you being led on for a week by some bimbo.

The new girl wasn't just some bimbo. Yes she was attractive but she was very intelligent as well (a fellow guitarist and also a violin player). Beauty without intelligence might as well not exist for me. Lack of intelligence is a complete turn off for me.
I'm not desperate to get into a relationship. I had this discussion at length with various friends regarding what happened. I didn't want what me and Becky had to be a relationship. I just wanted a bit of fun. To an extent, I got what I wanted. It would be nice to have had it last a little bit longer. Oh well.

Well I am glad to see that you aren't getting too worked up about it. I wasn't trying to be unnecessarily harsh, it is just I have been in semi-similar situations were I ended up acting extraordinarily foolish. Don't want you, or anyone, to make any foolish choices if a little reality check is that is needed to prevent it.
