Oh, okay. I just can't pick up on these subtleties.AppleQueso wrote:I think he likes MGS4.GSZX1337 wrote:@Arbitern1: Holy post stretching, Bat Man!

I've actually not played any of the MGS games so I don't think I'll be getting 4 for a long time.Arbitern1 wrote:Metal Gear Solid 4

I'd totally forgotten about Yakuza 3 till HellHammer mentioned it, now I'm surprised that hes the only one. I was under the impression that it was a solid Shenmue style action/adventure game.
Are there really so few oddball games for the PS3? No worthwhile imports or budget titles like a EDF 2017 or anything. It's not changing my plan to buy a PS3 or anything, but it's like there's nothing but AAA blockbuster games or something.
Re: Buying a PS3, help me pick ONE (exclusive) game
No, the story isn't that important, but I encourage playing the first two games (don't know about the PSP spin-off) prior to playing 3. God of War has a Clash of the Titans/Jason and the Argonauts feel to it. You wouldn't want to just experience the last half of Clash of the Titans, would you?dsheinem wrote:The GoW games are some of my all time favorites, but you're giving a lot more credit to the importance of the story in the GoW games than is due.Bradtemple87 wrote:i really enjoyed god of war 3, hands down one of the best looking games out there
BUT
play the first 2 games in the collection if you have not because it will be pointless without the story
BINGO! That was Sony's strategy to counter the whole: "There's no games on the PS3!" debacle.t0yrobo wrote:It's not changing my plan to buy a PS3 or anything, but it's like there's nothing but AAA blockbuster games or something.

That makes sense. It's odd, having all those games is far from a bad thing, but I still feel a little put off by it and I can't articulate exactly why.GSZX1337 wrote:BINGO! I guess it's kind of like if you only had movies like Avatar, Bourne Trilogy, Expendable, and the latest Marvel adaptation. Sometimes you just want to watch a low budget horror movie.t0yrobo wrote:That makes sense. I did not like the first three Metal Gear Solid games very much. I mean they were good, but seemed like they were overrated. I'd go with Little Big Planet since it is a great game and is only 30$.t0yrobo wrote:I've actually not played any of the MGS games so I don't think I'll be getting 4 for a long time.Arbitern1 wrote:Metal Gear Solid 4

I thought we already mentioned many oddball PS3 games.t0yrobo wrote: Are there really so few oddball games for the PS3? No worthwhile imports or budget titles like a EDF 2017 or anything. For a recap, here's all the off-beat PS3 Exclusives (well, exclusive in the sense that they aren't on the Wii or 360 - some are on the PC or Mobile Devices) that are worth your time: Demon's Souls, 3D Dot Game Hero, Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea 3, Yakuza 3, LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers, Katamari Forever, PixelJunk Series, Critter Crunch, Flower, Joe Danger, Super Stardust HD, Everyday Shooter, Shatter, Comet Crash, Trine, Echochrome. All these games should scratch your itch for off-the-wall, unique gaming experiences.
