That's made by Ascii. Presumably it is similar in feel to the Advantage which D said he didn't like.
I have this stick, and while it is better than other Ascii sticks I've tried, it still feels a bit light and the buttons are kind of small and close to the joystick itself.

I have been playing most of my US PS1 games and PS2 games on my BC PS3 lately, which allows me to use the SFIV TE Stick - so that is quite nice. However, I have a modded PS1 and PS2 and plan to play some Japanese shmups soon. What would be the best stick that would give me something close to the TE stick for PS1/PS2 games? Bonus points if I can throw some kind of PS>Saturn and or PS>GCN adapter on it (without soldering)...

Wipeoutguy has a PS1 to Sat adapter, I forget the actual name of it. Hard to find but works great. I myself have a Red Octane Universal adapter that does PS1/2 to XBox/GC/PC. I haven't actually tried it with my GC yet, but I've been using it for the the STGT and it works great. Although now I look there don't seem to be any used ones available anywhere. Well damn, so my 2 suggestions will be both hard ot find. :?

I did some research today and it looks like the Hori Real Arcade Pro sticks are considered the best PS2/1 stick. Of course they range from $175-$330

Still, I may try to find one for a good price. Is there anything I really need to know about the differences between the various colors/iterations?

Both of those adapters sound perfect for what I'm after: simple plug and play to hook a great PS1/2 stick to a Saturn/GCN/Wii or even a PC.

Well, here's what the Redoctane one looks like. It doesn't work with a Wii though, that's why the low reviews by the 2 people who knocked it. It came out in 2005. :?

Does the Blaze or Virtua Stick for Saturn (JPN version) have microswitches for the buttons or rubber domes?

Good momentaries for the buttons, micros for the sticks. Pic is of PSX Blaze Twin Shock.
The extra wires and toggles are my mod to convert to Twin Stick function.

Are you guys serious? The Mas Systems Super Pro Sticks were the best thing that's ever been available for anything. The original Mas is gone, but one of their lead techs is selling them independently on Ebay. Here's a listing:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Ultra-PS2-Super-Pro ... 5ad4371034

Get one with the PS2 connector, then just use of the many converters out there on the market to connect it to any other system you might want to play. A word of warning, the stick being sold in the above link is the smaller version, you need to specify to the seller that you want the full size version if that's your preference.

Are there reviews of the stick anywhere? It is an ugly design, but if it controls as good as you say, it might be worth considering...

Not everyone likes American style sticks. Hell, I can hardly play on one.

SMS - I have the "Sega Arcade Stick" with buttons on the left. Any better options?

This is the best for your Master System... And... drum rolls please..
It's compatible with your commodore 64, your msx and amiga!! :D

It has the smoothest joystick that can take a lot of abuse (mine allready works for 12/13 years or so) and it's just perfect! Doesn't have microswitches at all, but I don't miss them, have sticks with microswitches and somehow this stick works perfect without them.

also has switches for autofire and player 1 or 2, because it has 2 cables coming out of it, so you can play a shmup and when player 1 dies, switch to player 2 and game on!

I don't need it cause I have two of them ;)
