I have a pretty good job and I have never played COD. I could see myself doing this for some extra moolah.
One time I did a mystery shopping gig for $300 for something like 8-9 hours of my time completely. I had to pretend to be someone interested in a loan from an HSBC outfit and go through the process and report back to the corporate company with my feedback.
I've never played Call Of Duty -- but I like the idea of such an experiment. If anybody on here wants to give me $750 I'll play whatever game you want this month.
I mean to me, at worst I'd hate the game and then I"d write a blog post about it. So at least I got something out of it. Shrug.

i think the issue is that i'm not playing a game that is truly "terrible" by definition, but a game that is truly "popular" by definition. it's not that bad of a game. not really my "thing," but i like first-person shooters, and this is definitely not the worst one i've ever played.
it still blows my mind that anyone could think this was a bad idea.

Hey Noise, there is a couple of Call of Duty games for Wii; although I prefer Reflex, that's because I only play online but single player campaign, there is alot of lag.

this thread actually made me wonder about checking out the first game on Gamecube. I don't know. I know nothing about the series.
