When game collecting, do you go for quality or quantity?

uhhh both. :D

Certain systems like N64 and Gamegear I have a pipedream of owning every US game for, but mostly, I buy games I want to play.

And on ebay, you can always find a large lot of games you want

90% of the time quality! Also complete games only! Sometimes I'll buy some mediocre/crap games if they are to be had on the cheap... i.e. $5-10 new.

Not as many people as I thought that would have been going for quantity, I always felt that sheer collecting was viewed as a legitimate aspect to many game hobbyists.

My game collecting is a combination of both quality and quantity. I usually buy only games I intend to play. I have never gone for a complete collection of games on any system but may someday on Dreamcast, Saturn, or another system.

I buy games I want to play
even-though reviewers tell me it's crap; I'll make my own judgment on the matter of subject

Gothic 3 being a prime example (amongst others)
C-64 will never die
- only the players

Quality Vs Quantity

Post by noiseredux »

I started a similar discussion in the past but felt it got derailed... Basically, I go back and forth on this a lot. Should my collection consist of as many games as I can find? Or should it be restricted to just the games I'll want to play?

Discuss.

I made a thread exactly like this, the general consensus was quality.
