All the PS2 games at GS seem to be in horrible shape these days.

So true, once in a while lucky like PS2 Tribes I bought the other day. Blue CD with original cover, case and manual.

Yeah I know.

Does anyone else have this problem where you'll find a stack of PS2 games - like 5 or 6, then go to the man behind the counter and say "Hey. Can I see your best copies of these games?" And then have that man give you the evil eye as if you were his boss and just asked him to perform the unthinkable? Then as he lets out the inevitable groan, which somehow equates to "Ugh, not another asshole customer" all I can do is think to myself "Yeah well, if the store actually cared enough to buy only the games that were in good condition then this would never be an issue, and I'd never have to ask to see them beforehand."

I think it's always kinda fun to see the look on their faces when I tell them, "Uh yeah, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to pass on all these - they're a little too scratched up... and this one is the wrong disc - it's the Greatest Hits edition." And he's all... "You mean, you don't want ANY of these?"

Nope 8)

Yup, they make you feel bad for asking the see a game that you want to buy. Man I cannot stand most of GS's employees.

Local flea market is the same way with bad condition ps2 games. I bought a game with HORRIBLE scratches on it, obviously it didn't work so I brought it back.

I went back in there a few days later and he had the game back on the shelf, with a slightly lower price.

Anyhow that's the REAL reason I pretty much only buy online or new now, disc based games just generally show up in much better condition from my experience.

Yeah, for every one or two I think are decent folk, there's another ten waiting in the shadows to be dicks. I know their job isn't glamorous and that they probably get treated like crap by a lot of the customers, but some GS employees act like they are doing you a huge favor when you ask to inspect before buying.

The thing that confuses me...isn't it LESS work for them if I DON'T buy a game and then return it?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Plus knowing GS they probably are penalized for returns.

Hope not, I know a lot of people that abuse the 7 day return policy on games. Take it home, play the crap out of it, return it for another one.

Sometimes I use the 7 day return policy just to find me a better copy.
