Yeah, it doesn't really share any common gameplay features. It has a few callbacks to the Persona series as cameos, but that's about it.noiseredux wrote:I dont know... Catherine doesn't have the SMT subtitle anywhere. I really don't think it's intended to be part of SMT.

Is there a list of the games that Atlus has developed for the more recent consoles?

Re: Shin Megami Tensei
Question. How is the first Devil Summoner on the PS2? I am thinking of picking it up next week, but I'm not sure if I want Devil Summoner or Sakura Wars for the PS2 or some GBA games (Golden Sun, Metroid Zero Mission, or the Castlevania Double Pack) Not really sure. I am leaning towards Devil Summoner because of its rarity, but I am not really sure.
NES, SNES, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, GCN, Wii, PS3, 360, GB, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, PSP 3000, and 3DS XL

I'm about halfway through Devil Summoner and it's a lot of fun. The combat is janky and it's not nearly as involved as other SMT games but it's definitely worth playing. And like you said, rare.Betamax001 wrote:Question. How is the first Devil Summoner on the PS2? Though so is that Castlevania Double Pack.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei
I'm playing Persona 4 now, The characters are all really, and I like the lighter attitude the game has, as opposed to Persona 3.
Are the other persona games worth getting into? I've had Persona 2 sitting on my desktop.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei
Persona 1 on the PSP is the better port than the PS1, but since this is the first one, it does feel a bit barebones, if you do have SMT: Strange Journey on the DS, they are quite similar - no social links in Persona 1.

Why didn't you just wait for the re-release that is coming out in less than a month? Or play Persona 3 Portable, for that matter?noiseredux wrote:so when we were without power last night, I decided to start playing the PS1 fan translation of Persona 2 Innocent Sin on my PSP.
