Yep. Just like NES in the 90s. They were junk when the tech was last-gen. Now they're "vintage."
Or N64 in the mid 00's, or DC in the early 00's. I could have got so much for so cheap, but I went with PS1 and 2 at that time instead.
J T wrote:Yeah, there is usually a temporary blip upwards in price whenever a sequel is announced/released. I think that is why we are seeing an increase in price for games like God of War, Final Fantasy, Yakuza, and Ico.
Release of a digital version also drops value of the original release.
I remember that MGS: The Twin Snakes skyrocketed from about $25 complete to anywhere from 50 to $65 complete around the time MGS4 came out. You can see the change in price here: http://www.videogamepricecharts.com/gam ... win-snakes I bought it in late July or early August 08, so I was very glad to get a complete copy for $36 shipped.

$20 bucks for mine, with ugly US box art, and it didn't even work.
Hang on to it, try another PS2. Some PS2's have troubles reading the U.S. blue CDs Check out my ICO review below.
Thanks, but it was the disc. It had a number of scratches on it, and even tried it on a B/C PS3. It always froze during the opening scene, where the boat is about to go into the cave.
Back on topic, whatever happened to anniversary collection? If X Collection is getting more expensive, what about Anniversary Collection? Does everyone have it already?
i think it's funny because no one really gives a shit about original xbox games now, whereas before it was always the go-to console over the "inferior" ps2.

I still prefer Xbox over PS2.

Well, that's because Microsoft killed the system off as soon as the Xbox 360 came out. Same as the Gamecube.

One of the things I like about Sony is how they always support their systems for at least 10 years. It was neat to be able to buy Medal of Honor and a new PS1 while Sonic Heroes was in stores. Not that I like SH, I'm just using it as an example.

Anniversary Collection for ps2 isn't worth as much, but it's still relatively valuable in comparison to most PS2 games. It goes for around 20 dollars, and a sealed copy can get 60 to 70. I'd consider it "collectible". On a side note, the gamecube versions of those games are also selling for a good price.
I still like to play PS2 games but yes I am not collecting it. The reason is there are so many other games are also in the market which is alos as good as the PS2 and I already have a wide collection of PS2. And I think people is not collecting the PS2 because there is a wide range of games, consoles and play statios so nobody would like to spend much money for PS2

Yeah, it's one thing I've liked about Sony as well.
I don't understand why Nintendo killed Gamecube support as soon as they did, though. I seem to remember the NES was supported for quite some time after the SNES came out. It would have been nice to see the Gamecube get the same kinda treatment.

Don't give up on that becoming more rare disc. Polish the disc at home. Or a Video Rental that has a commercial polisher.
