Drivers are up to date now. I think it helped with STALKER, Imagine that.

Yeah driver updates usually improve performance by a significant percentage over the life of the driver support. The latest ATi CCC drivers have given me some huge gains in performance on my OC'd HD4870, I used to get a bit of stuttering when there was a lot happening in Clear Sky when it was on max settings but now It's completely gone, totally smooth... baby.
