In my fellow mods' defense, the kind of ranting going on in this thread would probably have gotten you banned almost anywhere else. At the very least the thread would be locked. I'd like to think that collectively we treat you and your opinions with respect, even if we don't necessarily agree with them or if you don't show others the same courtesy. There's VERY LITTLE kicking/banning/warning/editing going on in the forums, even if many of us do weigh in as individuals on what we think of a particular thread/post.

All I ask is that people actually know what they're talking about before chiming in on technical matters. When I brought up the trace cutting procedure, something I have done before personally and something recognized throughout the XBOX 360 repair community as a necessary evil, every (probably all of which have never even opened an XBOX 360 before) started going "NO NO NO! ITS NOT A GOOD FIX! WE HAVE NO REAL JUSTIFICATION FOR OUR RESPONSE, BUT WE NEED TO SAY SOMETHING ANYWAY!" By all means, a standard screw and washer fix should be tried first, but don't start running around claiming this and that when you have no experience on the matter to claim authority. This is like people blogging about medical information after a medical expert has made contrary assertions.

But what is it that you seem to think qualifies you as an expert on the matter? Because you have done it? I have modded heaps of SNES, MD, NES and so on, I wouldn't call myself and expert on the matter, but then again you seem fairly ego driven. I am 3/4 way through my dual diploma's in Programming and IT Hardware, but I don't shut people down when they discuss hardware, its fine to correct people when they are mistaken but being a total knob like you doesn't help anyone.

You remind me of that kid at the party who tried way to hard and got drunk way too early and everyone was just wishing he would leave, but he still thought he was pretty cool.

When help is asked, the more suggestions (even when perceived as wrong advice) the better. Nobody here should decide that their way is the only correct way. That decision is solely up to the person asking for the help.
