Hey guys. I'm trying to mod my 64pin and did what was described in these forums to no avail. I was wondering if you guys could tell me what I could possibly be doing wrong:
-Bridged A+B with solder on the chip
-Control to 0014 instead of 0019
-Unplugged the green thing on the CD-board and put the power wire inside the second opening to the right, then plugged the green thing back into the board. Power wire obviously soldered to the modchip
-Filed down the sides of the chip a bit
-Put the ribbon cable into the modchip blue side facing up
Before trying this method I did the normal A+B method and even tried soldering the signal wire to the 8th pin on the chip. So far nothing has worked. I've tried putting the modchip in both ways (so that the component side is facing away from the system, and vice versa).
I really want to play Panzer Dragoon Saga :/ Any help would be appreciated!

Did you do the steps of putting the game in and opening the lid several times that the previous posters documented?

The discs wouldn't spin.

Don't you think these kind of details are important? This is why you need to spell out everything that you have done and everything you observe. We're not sitting in the same room as you looking at your system.kuwes1985 wrote:The discs wouldn't spin.

Yeah, I should have included that information in my previous post, I'm sorry. I spent a lot of time this past weekend trying to get this to work, and I'm really frustrated. But I don't want to give up.gtmtnbiker wrote:Don't you think these kind of details are important? This is why you need to spell out everything that you have done and everything you observe. Do original games (pressed discs) still work? What happens if you disconnect the mod chip? Do original games work?
Re: SOLVED: Modding a 64 Pin Saturn
Yes, the original games work perfectly. I have a bunch of burned games here, used the swap trick last night to play some of them.gtmtnbiker wrote:Do original games (pressed discs) still work? What happens if you disconnect the mod chip? Do original games work?

Yes, please do that. I would like to see more unit's up and running just to be 100% sure, that there is no confusion about it anymore.Niode wrote:Well done! I can finally get round to doing my 64pin Model 2 Saturn.
So basically, so we can nail it down for sure without this bogus 65% success rate stuff.
Good luck!
