When I was younger I traded away a mint Virtual Boy system, complete with custom hard shell carrying case, with boxed copies of almost all the U.S. games, including Jack Bros. for my friends Sega Saturn w/ 6 games or something... 1 year later I could buy a brand new Saturn with 3 games included for something crazy like $50-100 or something. That is my only collecting regret to this day. :\

Oddly enough the only other systems/games I ever traded away (to friends) where the Sega Genesis, Sega Gamegear & Sega Nomad (I never liked any of those systems...) :P

apart from my C-64 collection going down the drain...

I had an Atari 2600 with 22 games (1 duplicate; Space Invaders, so 21 games)
we moved to Denmark (from Sweden); my mother sold my Atari along with all the games for about $20

needless to say, I didn't ever get to see a dime

a couple of years ago, I had collected N64 with 4 controllers, expansion-cards, rumble-packs, etc. with 7 games (amongst them OoT, SM64, MM, SSB, etc.)

was low on cash, only had a 14" TV to play on.... sold it all for $40

the horror part of it, would be that I bought pot for the cash and loaned money from a friend to buy food

needless to say....there really isn't a cure for idiocy.

I threw about 6 years of Nintendo Power issues starting with January 1992 away when I moved out of my parents house back in 2002. "I don't need these anymore!" and I threw them in the recycle pile. They were beyond mint as I took OCD care of my issues. Thankfully, I have them all back as I recollected them...but their not as mint as mine were.

I go into the local 2nd hand records shop and they have a like new model 2 Sega Saturn box w/system sitting there. It was $30 but I couldn't see the system cause the lid was taped shut. I couldn't open it without damaging the box so I called over the pimply girl working there. I tell her I'd like to look at the system but the box is taped. She smiles, rips the lid in half and says whoops, does that matter? I don't hit women but I was so tempted seeing as the box had been like new. I could only turn and walk away, holding back the tears

Too many to list. Top regret would be selling my entire collection around 2002 to buy a new motorcycle. I still have the bike but it will be next to impossible to replace some of the stuff I sold. I since have replaced lots of stuff but it hurts when you replace what you had with something that is in worse condition or not complete.

Several Ebay purchases come to mind where the descripiton was way off from what actually arrived. You have to love stuff listed as "new" in box but the box is opened. Also the word "mint" comes to mind. "Game comes mint" (but with a resurfaced disc, water damage to the insert, tear in the manual repaired with scotch tape)

Cutting up some of my Turbo Grafx boxes to make jewel case inserts for games without boxes. (seemed like a good idea circa '93)

Gosh, I don't even know where to start. Selling off my NES/SNES collections when I got my PS1. Trading for and than getting rid of my Genesis/CD/32X trifecta. Selling off my GBC games such as boxed mint Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Tactics Ogre, Harvest Moon, and many others. Getting rid of my Parappa, Poy Poy, Diablo PS1 games along with a bunch more. Basically I would sell off my stuff so that I could get something new which usually wasn't anywhere near as good as the stuff I got rid of. I kept all of the boxes and stuff in great shape. Getting rid of my Game Boy SP when I got my DS because I certainly won't need that again... STUPID!!!

Still have no idea what happened to my Virtual Boy or my Coleco games (system fried) though I'm assuming my dad sold them all in a garage sale along with my Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Transformers, He-Man, and M.U.S.C.L.E. figures.

Arrgh!!!

I hate the fact that I was naive and stupid.
