Heavy Rain Reviews & Impressions
Re: Heavy Rain Reviews & Impressions
just picked up the LE (finally) and played "The Taxidermist".. wasn't really impressed by it cuz it was so short.. but it did have a lot of tension

Finished it just this moment. Spoilers ahead.. I guess liking a certain character was my folly, because he was getting suspicious before the halfway point. Didn't help that the story was full of plotholes and deus ex machinas though (thrice did Shelby save people in distress.. WTF!), but David Cage isn't exactly in this business for his storytelling skills, and like the game itself he's a self-deluded character if you follow his outspoken attitude.. However that said this game is a huge improvement over the Indigo Prophecy. Hopefully Beyond will offer a bit of actual plot impact according to his Simon-Says gameplay, though I doubt it.

Anyway it's worth mentioning that Normand Corbeil, the composer behind HR's great soundtrack, passed away recently. The score more than made the game bearable.

Heavy Rain is everything Telltales The Walking Dead was supposed to be, a PC Adventure style game where what you do and don't do actually matters.

Except that key characters are immortal in this game. But I agree, TWD could have used more of that.
