Only thing that could be considered "revolutionary" next would be augmented reality overlays a la Dennou Coil.
Still waiting for that and my Jetpack.

Re: iPad?
I may be wrong in this, but I think they are shooting themselves in the foot by not letting the iPad handle Flash. There are a lot of flash sites in the web.
I was expecting (hoping) something closer to a "real" tablet PC - this is closer to an iPhone / iPod Touch it seems?
Well, this leaves it to the competition to deliver on an implementation of tablet that can handle flash and lets you install a browser of your choice and so on. I didn't intend to get an Apple product anyway, but I expected them to actually innovate on some things that would be copied by the competitors.
Ivo.

While I do hate FLASH with its Web page bloated scripting loads, its pretty much a necessary headache needed in any Internet Browsing computer.
There are Touch Screens now at a better cost that have all the capabilities the i-Pad doesn't have.
I rate this with the PSP Go should be Gone.

I also don't understand what it does better than a netbook or a cheap laptop.
Except if you draw on your pc a lot, then I can see it being really useful. otherwise it might be fun to have, but not really something you need like most apple fans our making it out to be. buy a cheap netbook and a cheap iphone for that same amount of money.

Not even, Apple touchscreens work on resistance, and Styluses that work with Iphone/Ipod Touch are expensive, and even if you can get them cheap, they don't work well or are hard to find.ZeroAX wrote:I also don't understand what it does better than a netbook or a cheap laptop.

Re: iPad?
Sort of right. The word you're looking for is capacitance. Not resistance. It relies on the human's natural ability to conduct. There's a conductive material underneath the glass that is etched in an xy grid. The fluctuations in capacitance are measured over the grid to give the coordinates of the input to the software.DNT 2.5 wrote:Not even, Apple touchscreens work on resistance, and Styluses that work with Iphone/Ipod Touch are expensive, and even if you can get them cheap, they don't work well or are hard to find.ZeroAX wrote:I also don't understand what it does better than a netbook or a cheap laptop.

Normal stylus' don't work on these types of screen, but a conductive stylus will.
