My time playing with a PS3 is very limited, less than an hour so I couldn't comment on PS3. But I've liked the xbox and its live. Wii is good at for party games but the technical limitations are obvious. So I could only place Wii 3rd.

Xbox 360 is the winner for me followed by the Wii. I've never been a fan of Sony's controller killing any enjoyment I could have with the systems. Also there is only a handful of PS3 games that even interest me. One of them was Little Big Planet but I now have that for the PSP, which by the way is another Sony product I wish I never would have bought.

Huh? They've been leading sales for the past few months and are way ahead of the 360, which is in a distant third.

Not owning a Wii, I voted for the PS3. The 360 is also my wife's console, so I've only really played a few select co-op games for it (which I have enjoyed--especially EDF).
Personally I like the PS3's library and seeming commitment to innovation. Titles like Littlebigplanet and the upcoming Modnation Racers are something you can't really find on the other consoles. That said, it really does come down to game preference. I like a lot of what's on the PS3 right now, but there's also a lot of great stuff on the Wii and 360. I find it hard to believe anyone could not glean some entertainment from any one of the current gen consoles.
Also, I'm curious about how many here would vote for PC if it were on the list.

Well, if your talking about the "Next-Gen" part, then yeah.
However, if we're talking about being able to judge the Wii, 360 and PS3, I'd say we're about 7 years too soon. You can't really say which one is going to be superior until its all over and done with.
While I've put my money in with PS3, it could go in any direction. Microsoft is starting to fall behind, but they've still got market dominance over the average gamer. Nintendo, also starting to fall behind, is still very popular with the 'blue ocean'. So, yeah - it's anyone's game.
In the end, the only thing that will make a winner out of this pissing contest is advertising. It's the only reason Sony was dead last while Nintendo was first in the beginning, and it's the only reason Sony is starting to pull ahead while Nintendo is falling behind.

I have a PS3 and a 360. PS3 gets way more play time. I vote PS3.

Big difference.
Anyway, I have a 360 and a wii, and if I didn't have any of them, picking one would be a difficult choice, which I think says a lot about this generation. In all past generations picking a system has been easy for me.
I don't play new games that much, so there's a pretty good chance if I could only buy one it would be a wii, just because of it's cheap pricepoint and games that appeal to me. New Super Mario Bros, Mario Galaxy, Mario Galaxy 2, Klonoa, Wario Land. But since I did fork over the cash for a 360, that's the system I play the most. Batman Arkham asylum is awesome. I still haven't beat gears of war 2..... And Pacman CE is one of the best games I've ever played.
On the other consoles platformers have pretty much died except for shitty licensed movie games. Banjo Kazooie was barely a platformer and was mostly a late 90s collectathon with pretty graphics. The new ratchet and clank games look pretty good but I didn't get into the earlier ones.
If they come out with Jak 4 I will buy a ps3.

I like those commercials with that dorky guy they've been showing lately. Funny stuff. I didn't think Sony would get so much support in this thread. Looks like all that Sony hate is starting to dissipate a bit
