Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

First of all get Civilization. Consoles are for patethic losers with social life who aren't MANLY enough so as to play such a deep game because they might not have friends or sleep.

Kidding aside, it's a very PCish experience. Civilization IV is, by far, the game with more options I have ever seen but at the same time is incredibly fun to play. You want to win by researching more? You can. Wanna beat everyone with a Samurai rush? You can. Want to destroy the economy of your opponents with corporations? You can. Religion? You can. Elvis Presley? Yes.

It's a cheap game too.

PC also gives you acces to economical simulation games. I recommend OpenTTD, looks old because it's based on an old game but is really fun. If you want something less hardcore I would recommend Rollercoaster Tycoon, fun game to play.

I would recommend you to check Team Fortress 2. I know it's a shooter but it's pretty different to other FPS. In fact the Spy, the Engineer and the Medic are all really fun and require no shooting. I mean, a multiplayer FPS where you can build a turret that kills everyone who gets nearby and you can pick a guy that turns invisible and disguises as an enemy to allow you yo backstab them for an instant kill? It may seem a bit chaotic or fast at first though. An unique experience, I very much recommend it as does fastbilly1 (But he doesn't like TF2 he prefers the old TFC). It has taunts too! That alone makes the game worthwile.

Get MAME too, it will let you run far more games that you would on a console.
