It's been on my wishlist for a long time, but I haven't seen it anywhere (well, except amazon of course, but not at a price I want).
I had that same problem too. But I had to resort to egay and won it for $20.

I hate to revive a dead thread like this, but i feel it's worth mentioning. A while back I found the psp port and bought it due to my obsession with the game and my lack of a ps2 meaning i couldn't play that version. well i finally decided to pick it up agian today, and flew through the stages to get to the master mode. and i finally beat the second level of master mode "flying through your heart". i only just made it....but I did it. my only worry is that it seems easier than the ps2 version, but i can't tell considering i can't really judge since i don't have my ps2 anymore.

Man, this thread made me smile. I used to love Gitaroo Man and played it for days. I still got the PSP version later and it was still awesome, i also have some of the songs on my ipod. I always wished there was a sequence to the game. They said it would happen but it disappeared.

Anyway, i can beat a few stages on the hardest difficulty, but finish the game is impossible.

I played through the PSP port, my only real experience with Gitaroo Man, but never finished the last stage. I loved the game, but it was hard as f***!

i'm guessing on normal then? wait until you finish it. your gonna soon think that even the last level on normal is actually easy. although back when i first played the game, i felt the same way as you it took me forever just to get past the final level too, although it was the ps2 version.

It took me a few hours to get through the game on normal. I also got through the first two levels on Master that same day. Since then, I've had zero luck getting past the third stage. I guess the rhythm to that song is just too "off" for me to really get through it.

Since I originally posted in this thread, I eventually did find a copy of Gitaroo Man for the PS2 that was $16. I have beaten the game on Normal mode, but I haven't even tried the hardest difficulty setting. Maybe I should go back and try it. :)

In well over half a decade of looking for this game, I have never seen it in the wild once. Anywhere. Not even a disc-only copy. Zip, nada, zilch. How can it be so rare? I've seen more copies of Panzer Dragoon Saga in the wild!

Plenty-a-copy on eBay though (though not really compared to other PS2 games)

I got mine at Gamestop. I was rather surprised to see it there of all places, actually.
