I have an RCA truflat. It's a really cool TV for Retro video games, and it works great with my zapper. It has component, composite, and antennae (digital and analogue) inputs.
I don't have much use for the component inputs because I can't find (or probably afford) a gamecube component cable, and Neither of my working DVD players have component out. Sometimes I hook an antennae up to the coax connector in my TV, but there are only two digital channels I can pick up where I live, so there's usually nothing on. I don't have any interest in paying for cable or satellite TV. Most of the time I'm watching a DVD or VHS, or I'm playing a video game. All my movies and games come through composite following the switch chart above.
I use the VCRs for pass-through, for watching VHS tapes and for copying VHS tapes.

Only having the single composite input really hurts. It pretty much makes you use the crazy one selector into another passthrough that you're doing.

Re: Poor Man's game room
You know what would be a perfect solution? Some kind of digital RF modulator that can accept ten or so inputs, and output a digital signal that I can plug into my coax. Then I could just use my TV remote to tune the channel that matches the device. I could pick up my remote and tune to channel 01 for Nintendo, channel 02 for Super Nintendo, etcetera. Does any company make a product like that?
Re: Poor Man's game room
I used a composite switch, it had like 5 inputs. My VCR had like 3. That was more than enough. I gave the switch away though, since almost everything I have is connected by component now (including my Cube)

I need to find my TMNT action figures, I have a bunch of tapes though.
