I had forgotten about that OOT commercial. Well since we are on the subject of Zelda. The only gaming commerical to actually move me was this one for Windwaker:

I loved that ad! It made me feel like Nintendo knew some great secret that the rest of us would never be privy to.

I remember begging my mom for months for that game only to get like two DVD's on my birthday instead, because "Those Japanese kill themselves over all that violence and swordfighting."

Let me put it into perspective:

My Father's side of the family:
Grandfather: Polish
Grandmother: British
Father: Born in the UK but brought over to the US when he was still a toddler.

My Mother's Side of the family:
Grandfather: Costa Rican
Grandmother: Costa Rican
Mother: Costa Rican woman who is extremely religious (catholic), and lost her husband while both her children were under three years old.

Me:
17 yr. old white kid from the suburbs of Jersey currently living in NC that hates his mother, is unaffiliated with any religion, and enjoys a hobby which the mainstream has declared violent, despicable, childish, and a waste of time.

Put it all together and you have an awful awful childhood filled with disappointment and having to listen to her drawl on about how I was going to end up an outcast from society due to my likes and dislikes.
