Re: What would your dream game compilation be?
A compilation of Saturn games in general would be a great idea for Sega, if just to remove the stigma that the Saturn has gotten in the gaming community.
NiGHTS into Dreams + Christmas, Panzer Dragoon, Zwei, and Saga (I don't care if it's emulated), Shining Force III, Burning Rangers, Dragon Force, Guardian Heroes, Fighters Megamix, Astal, Baku Baku, Clockwork Knight series, Daytona USA: CCE, Sega Rally, Legend of Oasis, Dynamite Cop, Dark Savior, Mr. Bones, Sonic R, Three Dirty Dwarves, Virtual ON: Cyber Troopers, and anything else that stands out as a quality title which rights can be attained for.
If not, then I think a Panzer Dragoon Compilation is in order. Panzer Dragoon, Zwei, Saga, and Orta. Too many people have missed out on those classics!

Re: What would your dream game compilation be?
They actually did that as a web-based download service in Japan. That's where the Giri-Giri emulator came from. I read that it wasn't very lucrative so I don't think it has much of a chance of happening again. We can always hope for something like that in english on Xbox or PS3.
Sonic-R, Daytona USA, Sega Rally and Virtual-on were released years ago on PC and I still see them in some bargain bins.
Guardian Heroes got a pretty good sequel on GBA. Nights is on PS2, so would still run on PS3.
I totally agree on the Panzer series. If they ported them with a resolution increase they'd hold up really well against most of the crap that's released.

I noticed some one's comment on youtube said he'd love to finish it, I'm sure other people would love to do the same.Anapan wrote:I'm pretty sure it was abandoned back in '05 and that's why Jorge released it unfinished shortly after but I haven't talked to him since some time in 2004 when I was helping him with some sprite rips. Jorge Fuentes was the artist and musician on the team but I can't remember who else was working on it. He's a moderator at the Castlevania Dungeon's forum so if you want more info that would be the place to ask.
It looks like combined sprites and sounds from CV4 and SNES Dracula X. Ahhh... I wish it was finished, I'd love to put that on a flash cart and play it on my SNES!

^Are you referring to console releases? I'd hate that. Why bother with console releases when you can just buy the original, or emulate. I'd much rather have Konami Arcade Classics (or something).

Re: What would your dream game compilation be?
I had a giant pack of ROMs for MAME back before I quit playing ROMs I didn't copy myself. I played quite a few Konami games then, and it's irritated me ever since how spotty Konami's home arcade collection's have been. The one for the PSone looks fairly good, but I've never seen it in the wild and I don't have a playstation anyway.o.pwuaioc wrote:I'd much rather have Konami Arcade Classics (or something).
Some random arcade games from various companies I'd like to see are:
Bank Panic
Bagman
Super Bagman
Blue Print
Cloak and Dagger
Diamond Run
Fire Trap
Food Fight
Journey
Mr. Do!
Mr. Do's Castle
Do! Run Run
Reactor
Seicross
Silkworm
To my knowledge, none of these games have accurate, easily accessible home ports. Food fight has a 7800 port that looks good, but not perfect, and Blue Print has a 5200 port that looks fair. Some of the Mr. Do games have good ports on the X68000 it seems, but that's hardly accessible for most people. Reactor has a 2600 port, but it doesn't look close to the arcade version. I've played the NES versions of Silkworm and Seicross. Silkworm is fair, and Seicross is good, but not close to the arcade.
EDIT: I've never played it, but I always thought Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder looked great.

You can do the same thing with arcade games and MAME, so then what would be the point of any collection if you're gonna have that logic about it?o.pwuaioc wrote:^Are you referring to console releases? Re: What would your dream game compilation be?
If you're *going* to do the emulation route, then you're absolutely right. But collecting original arcade boards is simply unfeasible compared to collecting NES and SNES carts.BurningDoom wrote:You can do the same thing with arcade games and MAME, so then what would be the point of any collection if you're gonna have that logic about it?o.pwuaioc wrote:^Are you referring to console releases? Well, I'd buy either Konami collection in heartbeat, whether it be Arcade or home consoles.
