Do you use antivirus and which do you use?

I was not using Antivirus software before I use mostly ZenOK Free Antivirus. I haven't had any problems with them and they are very user friendly.

You're paranoid, and probably losing a lot of potential system performance by running all that junk. However, I've got to comment on Peer Guardian -- it's completely, 100% utterly useless. Offers you zero protection against what you think. Uninstall that and gain some CPU cycles and memory back immediately.

I don't. I run OSX. I had antivirus for 2.5 years and the only viruses I ever saw were for Windows. I decided it was't worth the tradeoff in system performance.

I hate McAffee and Norton. They've both caused me more problems than they have ever solved. I use Comodo now, which is free and works really well for personal use.

I think you guys that don't use some form of antivirus are just a little nuts, but I also download a lot of free games on the internet, and that can sometimes be a little dicey.

I don't typically use AV software (and I'm on Windows), but I've started using Microsoft Security Essentials as its free and doesn't use many resources.

Or they run more secure operating systems, or they have seven firewalls.

For the Retro CRT iMac with OS9- OSX, nothing is needed.

For the PC, I use Spybots and once in a while a check with CC Cleaner. Both are non intrusive, I control when to run them.

Why would anyone want to use Norton! The constant Is It Safe?

My mom runs a gymnastic club and so having a good antivirus is neccesary. While you can keep your computer clean you can't say the same about other's computers and sooner or later you start getting mails nobody sent.
