Although I put the game in upside-down, so that the clips match up with the bevel on the game. It makes it a bit more secure. It looks a little messy on the inside, but you only notice it when a game isn't there. I also make a solid line on the bottom end, as opposed to trying to match the outline of the DS clip.

A full set of guides on getting things into DS cases can be found here. I got my Virtal Boy games into the cases in a similar manner to how the Game Gear games go in.

holy christ mate that is the best and most clever idea i have heard you need a bloody award :)

got any ideas for snes customs lol

Universal Game Cases fit SNES, Genesis, N64, and SMS carts without modification, NES and Jaguar carts with modification. The Cover Project does most of their covers in terms of UGCs.

So the DS cases work great, but I can't seem to cut the plastic inside without fucking up the plastic "wrapper" on the back.

So here's how I do it. I have a short (2.5") knife in my knife block. I put my hand between the DS case and the sleeve and slide it in at the edge of the DS part to remove it. You really only need to get just under the edge, since the DS part is molded plastic, not solid. I have stabbed myself one or two times when going too fast, but never too deep.

got a pic?
Here you go. Smaller one has gameboy, and the slightly larger one holds game gear.

It's been years since I've purchased, as my gameboy and game gear collecting leveled out.

Hey, I'm liking this. Off topic, but I store my N64 games in some Converse shoe boxes that are jussst the right width.

...is how I used to store my GB collection, anyway. While it made for some cool photos and made everyone go  when they came into my room, it became pretty inconvenient when I wanted to play a game that was near the bottom of the stack.

I think the Shallow has the best solution I've seen thus far and I did something similar later, but I still dream of making a proper Gameboy shelf from scratch that is designed around storing only Gameboy games. Lack of proper design software is making me procrastinate.
Omigosh I just went  AWESOME

So I picked up some DS cases over the weekend, and started printing from The Cover Project, and boy am I glad I started this thread. Thanks Mr. Popo for all yr help on this. The collection already looks soooo much better with these printouts. And what's great is it really makes the GB, GBC and GBA look like one seamless collection!

You know what? Those photos are from about 3 years ago--the tower got a lot taller since then as I added more games over the years. No photos of the taller tower are going to be possible however as a few months ago I sold off my entire hand-held collection. :/
