The only check I write every month is for rent, since my apartment complex refuses to accept 21st century methods of payment. The rest of my bills are done through my bank's free Billpay. Recurrig charges that don't change (cable, car insurance, etc.) are set up to repeat, so I don't have to mess with them. The ones that do (utilities, cell phone) I have to inout manually, but it takes like 10 seconds.
I remember when I was working at a bookstore, we got a new system that scanned the checks in and processed them immediately. We had to explain it to everyone because it was a new thing. What really amazed me was the number of people who were going to write a check, then after the explanation, handed over their debit cards! Why the hell would you take the time to write out a check when you had a debit card!
Who still writes checks these days I mean come on?
