That shouldn't take too long. It's not a very long game, and it's one of the easiest RPGs I've ever played. As I recall, only in the final dungeon did I ever feel like base enemies threatened me, and even then it wasn't much of a threat. You can pretty easily overpower just about everything you come across, which actually makes one boss fight that much harder because you have to lose. I fought that fight for an hour before realizing that is what I was supposed to do...

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.
I'm only an hour into it, which is still a tutorial for the most part. But, I'm enjoying it. I've heard it can be a really long game if you do all the side quests and other extras.
Any one beaten it that can confirm this?

Have you thought about getting the repro's? When I start collecting SNES again I think I'm going to get them.
Also, since you are the resident Ys professional, What games in the Ys series did NOT get a port on the PSP?

@AckI have played Rayearth many times, this is my first time playing it on an actual cart though. It's nice and easy and breezy.
@Frag MortuusI can read Japanese well enough that I don't need repros. The frowny face was for other people.

As far as Ys goes, most games aren't on the PSP. On PSP:
I & II
Oath in Felghana (remake of III)
VI
Seven
So, not on PSP:
III (original version, can be found on a bunch of other consoles)
IV: Mask of the Sun (Super Famicom, remake on PS2)
IV: The Dawn of Ys (PC Engine CD)
V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand (Super Famicom)
Origin (PC - physically released in Japan and Hong Kong, digital release (Steam) everywhere else)
Strategy (DS - JPN/PAL only)
Memories of Celceta (Vita, recently released)

I have to say, speaking only for myself, when it comes to classic Ys games it's Turbo CD or nothing. They play great on the Hugo emulator as well for anyone that doesn't have one. Have you seen this video, Bone? It gave me a good laugh anyway.

I've been playing Ys Seven for the first time, I'm about 11 hours in. Overall this is a very good game sure, insofar as actual gameplay is concerned. Unfortunately the plot is pretty bland and NPCs tend to blabber inanely too often. I put up with that for the sweet sweet battlin' and lootin' though. I'm more excited to play Celceta but I figured I should do this one first.

I enjoyed Seven when I played through it recently, but I much prefer Adol's solo adventures. Ys Seven feels too bloated in terms of length for it's own good. I'll be starting up Memories of Celceta soon.

I think it took me about 30-35 hours with all sidequests.
Depending how much stuff like this bothers you, it might be worth finding a missables guide. Some of the Djinn in that game can be lost forever.

Demon's Souls.
I'm not a huge RPG fan, as they tend to be major timesinks and as I get older I just don't have as much time to pour into them as I use to have as a kid. So when I decide to play one, I want to make sure it's going to be worth my time.
Demon's Souls is worth my time. Great game.

Yeah Seven took me just under 30 hours, a bit too lengthy for an Ys game.
I will be starting Celceta eventually too, but I think I'll re-play Dawn of Ys and Mask of the Sun first. Do all the Ys fours in a row.
