So what have you guys been watching lately?

And the TV show starts before the comic a bit, deliberately so. I rather like it. It takes a better approach, in some ways, to setting the scene. It also provides a better understanding of Jesse as a preacher, of his personal desires and failings.

True, but I also suspect that it was done that way to keep the production practical and in-budget. I half suspect the show will end up being a better version of the material in the long run due to fleshing things like that out more.

oh goodness. So the first official pics of Inhumans have been released, and...

...this is looking like Legends Of Tomorrow level costumes. Ouch. I mean, look at Medusa. That is so not Medusa.

There was no way a TV series was going to be able to make the Inhumans look like the Inhumans. Just wasn't going to happen.

well yeah. But I mean, Medusa looks like... just a lady w/ red hair. Except even worse - if you're just going to make her look like a lady w/ red hair then how about hiring a lady w/ red hair so you don't have her in a really bad wig? It's like they didn't even TRY to make her look like Medusa. This is just a really bad first impression for me.

If they are going to use any special effects to animate the hair, it might be easier with a wig like that. But I agree, it looks tacky.

I think it bothers me most that if you're going to use a wig, then make it a wig that goes down to her feet so that she actually resembles Medusa.

Alternatively, maybe they use special effects on-screen, and the wig was just for the photo shoot.

At this rate I think I'm just going to never watch any super hero related show ever.

Just finished last night's Riverdale, the penultimate episode of the first season.

In case you missed it, it's a dark reimagining of the popular Archie Comics. Instead of the happy-go-lucky style of the comics, the series takes on more of a murder mystery vibe that focuses on the murder of Jason Blossom, twin brother of Cheryl Blossom (don't really read the comics so IDK if she had a brother in the comics) and apparently heir apparent to his family's maple syrup business.
