Maybe you're selling yourself short? I have to assume you have capabilities above washing dishes. What's the highest level of employment you've applied for so far?

Were you able to do both eyes at once? My wife had LASIK 2 years ago - it took 3 procedures and about a dozen or so follow-ups, but after 3 months all was squared away and she was ecstatic. It's been the best decision for her and she continues to be over the moon.

I don't have experience to bus and/or wait tables or cook. And apparently employers would rather hire someone who did the same job before than someone who they would have to train. *sarcastic tone* Yeah, no one take intelligence into consideration or anything. *in regular tone* But seriously, just because someone has experience doesn't necessarily mean they're better than someone like yours truly, who'd be taught to do things in a way the employer wants. I mean, before washing dishes at The Captain's Table, I worked at Orange Blossom (home of the Apple Ugly), but whereas I had to wash everything by hand at the latter, I had a machine to use at the former, which was actually MORE work since there was more dishes to clean, as well as more to do.

Wonder how much money I'd make if I finished my dark retelling of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" and sold it digitally on Amazon. Then once I had enough good reviews I'd work with illustrators for a print version and possibly even an audiobook (preferably with Mr Creepypasta, Creeps McPasta, Creepypasta Jr and Miss Shadow Lovely lending their voice talents), though that depends on how well the Kickstarter does. And would I have the film rights? I don't know if Taissa Farmiga would be perfect to play my version of Dorothy, or if the Kickstarter for the film version would give me enough money for such a well-known actress.

I was. Today was the first follow-up and they said I'm showing 20/20 in both eyes, though it's still a touch blurry. I'm told that's to be expected for the first few days from the swelling and healing and such, plus then when they start to dry out, so I'm living in eye drops for a while. Would not really want to do multiple procedures, though obviously if I had to I would do it (this place guarantees free touchups for either 1 year or 2 if necessary, I forget which)

And they gave me a DVD of the procedure today. I had no idea that was going to happen. I don't know if I can bring myself to watch it though.

Ok, i've been corrected - my wife had PRK surgery - her eyes were too bad for LASIK; so that's why the multiple procedures - but, she's all good now.

How awful was it? My vision is terrible but eyes freak me out. I can't even do contacts.

If they could knock you out to do it I would have done it years ago

They offer sedation during (vallium) and numbing medicine; and painkillers after. Amy is tougher than you though, so no sedation and she turned down the painkillers.

I like how I look in glasses too much to get LASIK or similar surgeries.

I have ridiculously bad vision, and I wear glasses that would likely rip a normal person's eyes right out of their skull. I have considered getting LASIK before, but there are a few things I keep reading about it that sway me away each time. Such as it's not a forever fix, and eventually your eyes start going bad again. Some people end up with permanent halos that they see around bright lights in dim lighting. If the flaps heal up offset, you can end up with irregular astigmatism causing diplopia. There's a laundry list of potential bad stuff, but granted most of it has only <1% possibility of happening.

What I really hate are floaters. I've got a lot of floaters.
