Wikia managed spoke to Nintendo’s Shinya Takahashi and asked whether there is a chance that the water sports series (Wave Race) could eventually come back in some form on the Nintendo Switch. Here’s what Mr. Takahashi had to say on the matter:

“You may see that game again,” Takahashi teases with a grin. “We have been trying to make many games and that may be one of them … I personally love Wave Race!”

That would be nice, but hopefully it's more like the N64 release as the Cube issue was a little on the bloated side with button tricks and at times less interesting courses.

I think I should be annoyed, but not yet, Dark Souls delayed into summer. Perhaps it's the fact I'm slow on playing/finishing much of anything that I am not considering I've barely put time into Lost Sphear, and now I'm poking away and an oddly changed and interesting Pokemon Ultra Sun.

Finally finished my first game on the Switch. Moon Patrol -- as in, the 1982 Irem arcade game.

I have played a bunch of stuff though and I'm quite enjoying the system. Just got Stern Pinball Arcade, which seems to be kinda rare?

I've heard conflicting things about the Virtual Console. Should it materialize, what happens to the retro games already on the eShop? Reclassification?

This thing is getting lotsa great indie titles, digitally. As Steam gets more bloated and unwieldy I think we'll see quality developers move to the Switch. Or at least have dual Steam and Switch releases.

Has it been decided that this will be both the Wii U and 3DS successor? 3DS releases are slowing down considerably. I'd love to be able to focus on just one modern console.

I've sunk 5 hours or so into the physical version of Wild Guns Reloaded for Switch and raised my score by about 200,000 points:

I also picked up the physical version of Wild Guns Reloaded. I suck at it though. I've never played the game before to be honest. I was getting better at it, but then I let Skyrim consume all my Switch time.

Nintendo network goes live in Sept for Switch, $20/yr for 1 or a family plan up to 8 people for $35. Cloud saves, NES games bundle (which they'll keep adding to) with 1/2p play network features voice and more, other goodies.

Also virtual console put to death finally, which is good. All people did was moan about the releases and how slow they were anyway. Let companies do it themselves as it appears Hamster has Nintendo, SNK and Irem's trust so far and have done a far finer job on those releases.

I'm okay with Virtual Console dying. It has become clear that Nintendo lost interest in the product - and I think that I'd prefer for more effort to be put into re-releases of classics (online multiplayer, etc) Also, VC steals market share from smaller developers and pushes them away from the market place.

As long as there is some venue for older games, VC won't be missed.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I don't know that it'll greatly affect things. Had Nintendo implemented a proper cross-console account system years ago and made the VC a buy-once kinda deal, it would be a lot more meaningful to drop it. As it is, seems like the same games could end up available to buy over again anyway.
