Nice on the plug in walkman bit. I bet the belts are stretched and slipping. They could be replaced if you can find some the same size, but depending on which they are, prepare for a complex mechanical nightmare trying to get new ones in.Octopod wrote:*boom box*
Only tape deck C will curretnly work, A and B act as if there are dead batteries or something. They start to work for a split second and then "wind down" like tape decks did when you had dead batteries. The odd thing is deck C is removable and functions like a Walkman. I figured it would be the one that would not work if any of them. Any ideas?

I have never seen, or heard of, that game.
Also, over the past Month, I have gotten:
Final Fantasy Tactics A2 (DS) Brand new, but opened (the last one gamestop had)
Nanostray (DS) complete
Pink Floyd: The Making of Dark Side of the Moon (UMD) complete
Warhammer 4000 (PSP) sealed
Chaos Field (Gamecube) mint (it looks like a serious collector kept good care of this game, the put it in their shittiest case when they sold it)
Top Gear Pocket (GBC) loose
R-Type Final (PS2) complete
Destroy All Humans 2 (PS2) complete
all for about $64, and 2 crap gameboy games
Not really finds, but all nice additions to my collection

I bought a replica EVE hypo from Bioshock for $15 when I was at the comic book store yesterday. It actually has a really cool blue light in it. I'll post pictures tonight if I get a chance.

nice. the fact that the asterix game got a US release still blows my mind. ask any american kid in 1993 who asterix is and you're likely to get a blank stare.Octopod wrote:Thrift store - Asterix - Genesis $2

Radica 2004 "Megadrive" from Gumtree for £2.50. Happened to pick it up from a house round the corner from my girlfriend's auntie. A good time to stop and chat and down a nice glass of orange juice.

By the way, can I use any old 6 volt power supply for this thing?

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Nice and cheap. Yes you probably can if it says it needs 6 volts. Look next to the plug or on the bottom, it should indicate the polarity (the + and -) and which the tip/inside and outside should be. That will need to match on the plug you're going to use. Hopefully the unit also lists the mA needed. If for instance is says "350 mA", then your plug should provide that much or more. 1000 mA = 1 A. Though I bet that thing doesn't take that much power, so even if it doesn't say, a correct polarity brick that's 6 v will probably work.MikeyW wrote:Radica 2004 "Megadrive" from Gumtree for £2.50.
