Do you like awesome games? Then you'll like Colors. People who don't like Colors probably didn't play it long enough to see how insane it gets in the later worlds. I love it. Best SEGA game I've played since the Dreamcast era.

I don't really get what this means. What exactly is Super Mario Galaxy to the Mario Franchise?

I try not to be that anti-post-Genesis Sonic hater guy, but seriously, I can't even really say I liked the Adventure games. I just can't get into modern Sonic at all.
Colors is one of the first games I'm gonna check off once I hook my Wii back up, I only played the first level which was pretty underwhelming, but it looks like a fun ride.

The Sonic Adventure games are pretty bad. They were cool when they first came out because it was Sonic in 3D, but even if you think the Sonic parts are good, 2/3rds of the game you're usually E-102, Big The Cat or someone lame trying to complete a lame mission.

The vast majority of people proclaim Galaxy to be the best 3D Mario game. I'm proclaiming as an analog that Colors is the equivalent to that in the 3D Sonic games world. This is actually a mildly unpopular opinion to have, and I'm sticking to it.

The first two levels are actually tutorial missions and aren't all that pizzazz-y. After those the real game starts to open up.

I'd say watch these two videos in full, then decide:

And I haven't even mentioned the wicked boss fights. This game is goddamn brilliant.

Colors (or Generations) being the best 3D Sonic is an unpopular opinion? I don't really know of very many Sonic fans who'd disagree with you honestly...

I really think it's worth checking out and this is coming from someone who skipped every Sonic game after adventure excepting the handhelds. It's not retro-Sonic but it is a good game and Eggman's lines throughout are genuinely funny.

I guess it depends on what forums you frequent. Most folks in my experience cite Adventure or Generations as the best.

Generations, sure, Adventure... has not aged well at all to say the least.

I still think the Sonic and Shadow levels from SA2 have aged well...but the Tails and Knuckles gameplay...yeah, not so much. At least there's no stupid fishing in this one (Seriously, WTF were they thinking?)
