The whining and moaning on their Facebook page is kind of ridiculous. If I recall we were originally expecting an October 2013 release. Waiting a few months for a solid reliable product isn't much to ask for. I'm sure missing a holiday release was a lot harder on them than it was on the consumers.

The built in video filtering options are staggering. I really think the demand for this thing is gonna be through the damn roof. Is there any reliable retailers taking pre-orders for this? I know it's doubtful given the dubious details surrounding this product, but gotta ask anyways :P

After seeing all that video stutter, I'm hoping that Hyperkin uses this extra time to work the bugs out of the software. They really need to work on video optimization.

I'm curious what kind of processor the Retron 5 uses. I wonder if it's a Tegra 3 like the Ouya. or a Cortex-A9 like the Gamestick. I wish Hyperkin wasn't being so hush-hush about their specs. I think we all figured out early on that The Retron 5 is running a modified version of Android like so many other microconsoles. Hyperkin still has not confirmed this.

That's a good question and I'm curious myself.

So I was reading the comments of a post made today on Facebook by Hyperkin. Someone asked for a release date and the Hyperkin Facebook replied "April 2014", no specific day of the month but at least we have a Month!
