I think Hatchet III was actually shot in 3D so that's a plusnoiseredux wrote:the first Hatchet is alright. It was really hyped locally when it came out because Adam Green is from New England. So it was kind of like "oh, we should really see this to support the guy." I liked it. But it wasn't anything I needed to see twice really. There is one absolutely amazing kill in that movie though that makes it worth seeing once.
Oh and hey, apparently Hatchet III finished filming and Danielle Harris is still in it. Nice.

So you're both saying I don't need to rush to watch the first one? Good to know. I'll save it for a possible viewing next year and be happy with II. But if Danielle Harris is in the next one, I'll have to keep an eye out for III. I expect many wonderfully gruesome things.KillerJuan77 wrote:I think Hatchet III was actually shot in 3D so that's a plusnoiseredux wrote:the first Hatchet is alright. The Crow

Mark yet another movie off my list. As far as movies based on comic books go, this one is probably one of my favorites. You can really tell when you're watching it that is based on a comic book too, at least visually. Some of the shots just scream "Comic Book Panel." The overhead shots in particular.
The visuals themselves are grudgy and dirty, and the soundtrack does it's best to complement the visual style. The cinematography flies along a gothic landscape covered in darkness to the sound of striking guitar riffs and heady beats. There are a couple of moments where you can notably tell a green-screen was used, but for the most part everything remains consistent and moody.
Personally I think the movie starts to drag a little bit when Top Dollar shows up, but the action, visual style and Brandon Lee's performance more than make up the films low points.
As much as I like watching this movie I have to admit that, even now, I still have trouble watching it sometimes. It depresses me. Especially when it was caused by something so very, very stupid. You just can't not watch a movie like The Crow or The Dark Knight and not think, at least in some small part, about what happened. No matter how great the performance, the unfortunate tragedy associated with them is still haunting.

Silent Hill Revelations 3D

I loved the first SH movie (Even though I'm aware of it's flaws) so I came with high expectations for this one and you know what? It's pretty decent. It does have some weird plot holes here and there but in the end I was so enthralled with the top notch atmosphere that I almost forgot about them. It's not that well acted but the minor role by Malcom McDowell and the actress playing Heather are pretty good.
It's also worth mentioning: WATCH IT IN 3D. It's one of the best looking 3D films I've ever seen (I'd say it's on my Top 5 3D films ever and I've seen a lot).

You'll probably enjoy. Also... it's one gory film and it's shown with gleeful detail thanks to the 3D. Ignore the 8% in Rotten Tomatoes, after all, that site says that Gerry and fucking Tree Of Life are great.noiseredux wrote:^that's great news Juan. I kind of like I Know Who Killed Me as well. It's not great but I remember being bored beyond belief and it was on TV so I grabbed my popcorn and it was pretty entertaining.noiseredux wrote:I could care less. I just watched The Omen (2006).
I really like the original Omen trilogy, and would rate the 1976 film amongst the all time best horror films and as the cream of the crop for the devil-child style of films.
All you really need to know about the remake is that Liev Schreiber is no Gregory Peck and John Moore is no Richard Donner. I give it some kudos for trying to pay homage to the original, but it somehow shed almost everything that made the 1976 film such a brooding, moody, menacing classic.

The remake's worth watching for Mia Farrow. She is awesomedsheinem wrote:I really like the original Omen trilogy, and would rate the 1976 film amongst the all time best horror films and as the cream of the crop for the devil-child style of films.
