My summer challenge has begun. I started Link's Awakening DX on Game Boy Color and I love it! I don't know how I ever let this pass me up back in the day! I'm going to attempt it without any walkthroughs that they have online though. I just feel like it takes away from the whole experience w/ the game. Took me awhile to find the damn sword! I figured out to just move those sea urchins with the sheild and it was right there in the water.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Yes, I do. I believe some little kid in the game I spoke to told me how. I don't remember but it was kind of amusing though! He said something like "hold down select, start, A, and B but don't ask me how I know this, I'm just a little kid."

I do have some stupid questions though  . How the hell do you open that damn chest in the cave w/ the cracked floors in the Mysterious Forest, (I forgot they were cracked and I kept falling through)? Do I eventually get something that will assist me w/ moving heavy objects?

I'm already addicted to this game man! I chose it over the original Game Boy version because there is apparently an additional dugeon in this version and I also read that if yo can complete the game without losing a life you get a special ending? That will be a challenge for another day though. It looks beautiful too, almost SNES graphics IMO. I'm looking forward to this and the other Zelda games I have ahead of me. It's just one of those series that just never disappoints, with the exception of those Phillips CDI games or course.

Tackled a few games last night...

Mario 64-Completed Sunkin ship level and obtained a few stars in the process.
Mario has so many moves in this game and controls are pretty fun just goofin around.

Vay-returned to an old save (about 5-6 hrs in).Vay is hard to remember which saves are most recent being it doesn't show time.On top of sketchy commands I accidently saved over my most recent save, while checking saves ?

Final lap twin-After the Vay incident I decided to play it safe and pop this in.Searched my house for about an hour trying to find my notebook which had my passwords wriiten inside (this in itself was rather a RPG)...
Found passwords, now my next thought is.Will this thing start acting goofy and not reconize my passwords?...After every variation within the Matrix my password wouldnt reconize,so on to the next one.

FFIII(snes)-Wandered,Grinded,Saved it after 15 mins.

Immortal-I find this game to be fantastic,Very diificult but morbid and cool.Im getting use to the first level and getting use to the battle controls. But so far Im getting the pace of this game and enjoy it very much. Also the manual is a nice companion to the overall game.Once I complete this game I may wanna do a review for it.

So i pretty much struck out on some my challenges for the evening,But I have a good solid night of gaming up ahead of me.And I will report back :D

UPDATE:got the FLT password to work, right now i'm cursed so I cant race the area 2 champ till i find a shrine to reverse the curse
If this game had a little Roadblaster thrown into the races it would be crazy.

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

OK so I beat Dead Or Alive (played through Tournament Mode). This is the fourth or fifth time I've attempted actually. I find DOA to be rather difficult to master. I guess I'd say it reminds of Tekken a bit, but I find it a lot harder. But it's definitely really good. Very deep fighting. Certainly different in style than the Capcom stuff I'm used to. These DOA rounds can end in seconds! I'll elaborate more on my blog when I have a chance.

I got the Saturn version of the same game in the mail from Japan today - We'll have to compare notes when I finally get around to it.

Took a break from the challenge today to play some minigolf at the most emasculating course I have ever putted on. Tomorrow it's back to kicking Dracula's ass!
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I'm glad to hear you like DOA. :D

I'm a big fan of the series, and it always pisses me off when I hear fighting snobs shitting on it.

What characters have you been using?

IT'S JUST BORING COUNTERS AND BIG BOOBS

Haha, but seriously... I actually do hate DOA big time. But I'm no big fighting fan at all, I suck at them so go figure.

Since noise did compare them to Tekken though, I had a lot more fun with those games back on the PSX up to Tekken Tag on the PS2. I'd say they were a bit more combo based than countering like in DOA, and just good times. Probably the only traditional fighting series I ever got into quite a bit for awhile there. I'll never forget the epic Law (my pick) vs Paul matches my friend and I had growing up.
