My wife and I watched Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix. It was pretty great, and I am looking forward to the recently-announced second season.

My children are watching Ronja The Robber's Daughter on Amazon. It is an animated series co-produced by Studio Ghibli, and while I haven't seen much of it, they absolutely love it.

Ultraforce: The Animated Series

Found this awhile ago when looking for '90s cartoons.

It's really short, only 13 episodes, which may be a good thing since it feels at best like a poor man's X-Men TAS. I've never read the comics.

I think this resurgence of 80s franchises as TV shows is a perfect demonstration of the intellectual bankruptcy of Hollywood and that the 80s was the best decade for memorable cinema.

Finished Iron Fist on Netflix and I'm kind of mixed on it. The action sequences were great, but I felt like the villains were kind of lacking. Danny is also one of the most emotional characters of the heroes present via netflix so far and at times he felt a little overacted and childish(especially in the second half of the season).

Really I think the villains were the biggest issue since there were 3 of them across 13 episodes and none were really all that impressive compared to the other marvel netflix series. Was also kind of surprised to see so many characters pop in from the other series and yet none of the other heroes even made a 5 seconds cameo :P.

Still a solid show with great production values, but it's definitely at the bottom of the list if I were to rank the Marvel netflix shows.

As much as I like Rosario Dawson I really wish they stopped giving her huge roles in all of these :P. I know that reusing the same character to link all of the shows is really easy but mix it up a little  . She seems like more of a pivotal character then some of the heroes at this point  .

Back in 2008, Paul Giamatti appeared in the titular role of a miniseries based on David McCullough's biography of John Adams. I missed it at the time, but as I am a fan of Giamatti's acting and an avid history fan, I decided I should finally revisit this show. After two episodes, I am happy to say I'm greatly enjoying it. Giamatti as always is a treat to watch on the screen, as is Laura Linney, who plays Abigail Adams.

There are apparently some moments when the series takes creative license with historical events, but that's ok; I'm still finding it damned entertaining.

John Adams is a great show. You're in for a good time. Rarely is casting as on point as this show's lineup.

This is a pretty good summation of my own feelings. The show doesn't have a central villain that the storyline is built around like Daredevil season 1, Jessica Jones, or Luke Cage first half. This ends up hurting things. The fight sequences were all very well done and were varied up. The series also seems to cement who we're going to see as the big bad in Defenders and does some more work making the team up be believable since there's no Samuel L. Jackson to bring them all together. Really the outlier at this point is going to be Jessica Jones; I think I can see how she'll get involved but it requires a supporting character to get caught up in what goes down in the first episode. Iron Fist is 100% not a bad show. I'd probably put it on the same level as the second half of Luke Cage.
