Weekend Gamer Finds - A Permanent Thread
To be honest my Mondays were a little brighter because of a nice dedicated update from rfgeneration.com called Treasure Hunt Chronicles, by Mike Fox. It seems that he might be changing that weekly update but I know there are some great game hunters here also. And would like to see and hear your great weekend game quests.
Being in Southern California, everybody knows the value of everything and then multiplies it by ten. So to find a good deal here is a rarity, except for this weekend. My wife was off to her PTA meeting on Saturday which left me and my 5 year old daughter, Mileena, to fend for ourselves. After taking a nice walk to the local park there is a Thrift Store off the beaten path but seemed like a good place to beat the heat for the moment. After a quick look at the toys and books I walked down the electronic section for myself. Only to find a Sega Master System for $1.91 and an G3 iMac for $19.91. Neither had any hook ups but for that price I couldn't pass them up.
When I got home I tested both systems to see them light up just fine. For the SMS this is going to be my new display unit after my last one took a tumble during our last major earthquake a couple weeks ago and was chipped in the fall. The iMac is going to be my daughters computer since I read a great thread here a couple months ago: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 70&start=0 . I just need to find a keyboard and mouse to match her favorite new blue one.

1. Treasure Hunt Chronicles is a great series.
2. How is this thread different than the Video Game Finds Of The Day thread?

Great finds! The iMac will take any USB Mouse and USB PC keyboard. Its better to find the Apple keyboard to get the special keys. Plus most Apple keyboards give you two additional USB ports on the keyboard.
Here is my quote from that link concerning how to get OSX to work, check the FIRMWARE FIRST!

Make sure you have the latest firmware before installing OSX or your iMAC will do the Apple version of a RROD.
Firmware Update link at Apple:

The newest OSX version that is compatible to the iMac G3's is Tiger 10.4. You can set it up as Dual Boot with OS9, and even have OS9 run while in OSX mode for older games.

I don't see a difference between this and the video game finds of the day. No real reason to split it down into days of the week that would be silly so I've merged the threads.h8b1llg8ts wrote:To be honest my Mondays were a little brighter because of a nice dedicated update from rfgeneration.com called Treasure Hunt Chronicles, by Mike Fox.
