I don't know what just happened, but I read this phrase and was suddenly hit with an overwhelming craving for Ecto Cooler.Michi wrote:Hi-Octane Technodrome

Dammit! Now I want some Ecto Cooler and play Turtles in Time. One of those things isn't possible, though.

Chin up buddy! I spent my college experience making like zero new friends myself, so I know where you're coming from.[/quote]TSTR wrote:Yep, it's official, I have no friends at school. The only people who want to hang out like that I can drink as much or more than them, and since I can't get alcohol, nobody likes me.
It's just really pissing me off, this is my last chance to make any friends.

Solidly pleasing morning today, was warm enough to try for the flea market and I found many nice goodies and got out on my own for a few hours which is good too.
Spent $60, but I came back with nice things I really liked.
- ($20) GB Pocket mint in the box complete
- ReAction Alien figure (was sealed)
- Dune Blu-Ray
- Harvest Moon GBA in box (no manual)
- NGPC CIB - Dark Arms
- G1 Transformer Jumpstarter (it works) of Top Spin
- Red plastic snap case with a lego guy head on it, a full tree of legos and 2 full minifigs
- Sealed Lego polybag of Rapunzel and her cart for my four year old, she built it earlier which was a first for her to do that which was awesome. I just helped her follow the pictures.
I know I mentioned I got a GBP a week ago, it has small cosmetic problems. I plan to keep the plastic case of that one, the new basically new gbp (same style/lens which was sheer luck) and sell the less pretty+box with papers to break even off the 1st buy off ebay. Also to recoup my expenses that NGPC game was picked up as a flip as it's worth an easy $50.
Happy to see and get all that, it's rare I find much of anything to bring home anymore, stunned more than anything to accident upon that gameboy and the transformer.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Ticked - horrible headache caused by the weekend.
Smiled - Several months ago my company hosted a big black tie event for C levels across the market. Averaged out it was about 1k a head. Celebrity Chef cooking live, huge bar, live string quartets (yes multiple). It was fancy. So my boss, a traditional beer man, wanted a drink suggestion from the team because he felt beer may be frowned upon. So quickly suggestions poured out from the team: Pimscup, Conganc straight, Martini, etc. I told him that beer is acceptable, just drink it out of a glass and dont make a big deal out of it. I was heckled by the team, so I quickly turned and said order scotch, straight, Islay if possible, take a sip, comment about how good it is, and walk away, if you dont like it just drop it on a waiter stand or unoccupied side table with no one looking. Everyone laughed at my suggestion, but shortly after my boss came up and asked if Lava Violin was a good brand. I told him to just ask for a scotch and not try to pronounce the Gaelic names, Lava Violin is apparently Lagavulin. During the event he ordered a scotch and instantly had three people asking him about it, he closed three large deals at that event because of the drink choice.
This weekend one of my cousins was traveling through town on vacation and stayed with me. As I was turning down the bed she stayed in, I found a box between the pillows with the label marked out and LAVA VIOLIN 16 written on it with sharpie.
If that wasnt enough, we were at a party Saturday night and someone came in with two bottles of The Famous Grouse and proclaimed they hated it and anyone could have it. Myself and an old Jewish lady reached for the bottle at the same time, then split it while talking about baking and crappy scifi movies. Grouse is a decent blend, I recommend it over lower end Johnny Walkers.
Despite that, I typically drink less than four drinks a month. So the Lava Violin should be around for a long long time. Scotch is like some crazy secret club hidden in plain sight.

Kamasi Washington is streaming a live set tonight at 3pm EST via Pitchfork Radio. Perhaps I'll pour myself a Lava Violin to accompany this.

I read that as The Famous Groose and thought it was a Zelda themed spirit.fastbilly1 wrote:two bottles of The Famous Grouse
