We're supposed to get somewhere around 5 inches starting tomorrow morning at 8. I'll be surprised if we end up having school tomorrow. What I'm hoping for is to go in and then have them close the school early, but I doubt that will happen. Counties in the Piedmont aren't very well equipped to handle snow and ice...Fragems wrote:: Well Walmart after 3 hours just canceled my order so I guess I'll be driving to Ashland tonight to pick up some tire chains
. Sucks that they dumped tomorrow on me or else I could wait and actually test them out. Really it's not supposed to snow till around 12pm and most of the roads I will be on are cleared so I'm not sure if I want to try and put them on in the dark tonight or just wait till I'm on the route tomorrow. Not a fun situation either way
.

Well it's been about half an hour since they started processing my order in Ashland half expect this one to get canceled as well but it says they could take until 9:46pm to fulfill it
. Then I have a 40 minute drive down and back been a crappy day.

Woooo new house! Do you have a plan yet for how you want the video game room to turn out?KalessinDB wrote:officially closed on my new house
can't move in until 2/6
that's because I leave on vacation tomorrow!!
So yeah. The people I bought it from are renting it through Sunday to give them time to close on their new house, move, and clean. Monday my dad will go out there to meet the meter readers and get utilities into my name. I leave for New Orleans tomorrow bright and early, then Sunday to Sunday I'm on a cruise, coming back Monday the 1st pretty late. That week I'll spend moving boxes from my dad's basement to the new house and then ASSUMING there isn't a major storm I'll move my furniture over on the 6th and finally be done after like 8 months since I started packing up.
Feels amazing. I know there's gonna be plenty more to do once I move in (painting, organizing, little bit of plumbing)... But I don't care. So excited to have my new place and stop living out of boxes and PLAY SOME DAMN VIDEO GAMES!!

It's a ranch with a 85+% finished basement. The basement has a bar. My initial plan (haven't measured nothing, just eyeballing) is to have one couch facing an LCD mounted on the wall hooked up to my framemeister and modern systems, a second couch (not sure if they'll be back to back, right angles to each other, or sequential) facing an entertainment center that has my 36" wega behemoth on it in the main space, the short wall by the bar/bathroom will have two Astro Cities I'm gonna buy on it, opposite that wall the Big Red 4 slot, and on a third wall (either near the wega or near the couch belonging to the wega depending on if the couches are back to back out sequential) a dart board - regular steel tipped for now, but I want to eventually get a stand up electronic one like at bars.
I THINK that should all fit nicely while managing a place for all my systems (not all hooked up at once, I've never had that, but all pretty quickly able to be hooked up)... But I'm not exactly sure where all the games are gonna go
The other option is to maybe put the wega upstairs in the third bedroom I'll be using as an office, make it a smaller/more intimate gaming area when I'm really looking for nostalgia, and leave the framemeister downstairs. Could theoretically involve moving systems up/downstairs more often, but for the most part people tend to get excited about the arcade stuff more anyway. And it's not like I don't have duplicate systems of all my favorites (NES/SNES/N64/Genesis/Dreamcast/PS1/PS2) so it would only be games and MAYBE a controller going up and down. And it would free up some serious space for games downstairs.
So yeah. It's gonna be a while before I have a semi-permanent setup, but I at least have starting points. And there will definitely be pictures once I'm set up at least a little bit.
Oh and I'll hook the Ouya up either in my bedroom if I put a TV there, or in the living room if there's no bedroom TV. Because why not.

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of implants?Michi wrote:: Had oral surgery on Monday.

: Was able to go to work today, but still not feeling 100%.
: But everything seems to be going smoothly so far, which means in six short months (or so) my implants will be complete. I've been waiting since I was 12 for this year to come and finally it has *crosses fingers*

Pictures? Getting your Astros from Windy? Why Astros over NACs? Good to see you are taking Mjmjr25s advice and getting two, just curious to why the older model - nothing wrong with it just curious.KalessinDB wrote:It's a ranch with a 85+% finished basement.

Pics when I actually have them (he sent me a couple pics but I haven't put a deposit down yet so not sure if those particular ones will be "mine" or not. I'm buying from Ken, Chris has/had nothing but a few handyman specials when I emailed him a few weeks ago, and Astros over NACs because Ken has no NACs until April earliest but does have Astros, and honestly I kinda like the non-protruding speakers anyway.fastbilly1 wrote:Pictures? And yeah, two makes sense. Troubleshooting reasons, ability to leave one in vertical if I want, plus honestly one is probably gonna be pretty permanently hooked to my CPS2 multi so having one free to swap from PGM to F3 to Altered Beast or whatever else I pick up...
