I adamantly stick to my extremely unpopular opinion that Other M was a damn good game. Not as good as the Prime trilogy (never played Hunters, so I can't judge it), but a damn good entry nonetheless.

Did you know Other M backwards is M Other? As in Mother? Holy shit that's deep. And the Bottle Ship? Get it? It's like a bottle for the baby. You know, the metroid baby, and Samus is the mother! The other mother, rather. The Other M. Oh snap! 2deep4u

Double thank you. That game had nothing wrong with it but being damned by bitchy internet crybabies who think they know better than the developer.

Yeah the only stuff from that direct I'm not interested in at all is Lost reavers, and federation force. Others I'm a little iffy on, but the main Nintendo and second party games I'm all over right now....just wish I had the money for them XD but pocket card jockey, kirby, paper mario, and rhythm heaven sound amazing. If only sony showed the same support for the vita. Don't get me wrong I love my vita but where's the interesting games that push it's gimmics?

Triple thank you. Other M is a fine Metroid game, despite a few baffling design decisions and characterization issues. I don't think it was internet reaction that killed it, however. Rather, I suspect it was lack of sales (which is why we probably will not see a sequel to Codename STEAM, either.)

I actually am not that fond of STEAM. I play through like halfish of it, and it's certainly not bad by any means, but for some reason, I just couldn't get into it. That's one game I may never end up finishing.

I don't know exactly what caused the lack of sales, but I know there was a distinct lack. Quite a few years back, I remember walking into a Big Lots and seeing brand new copies of Other M selling for $10 each. And there was literally a box full of them. I can't recall seeing any other first party Nintendo releases selling that low at that store before or since.

We've talked about this before, but I think Other M is a 7/10. Not a terrible game by any means, but not as stellar as a lot of its series' highlights have been. I still think the idea of a polygonal third person Metroid is a good idea, and worth continuing to work with.
