1.) They're afraid of looking like they're copying their competitor.
2.) The 3DS is doing fine so they aren't doing awesome stuff like that, which may take away sales from the WiiU.
1.) Instead look like they are left behind. They are in the process of doing it, now that we have unified eshop accounts it is possible to do it. Cross Platform play of VC would be a big selling point to quite a few people I think.
2.) They will lose money when you consider the 3DS has a user base of 40+ Million and the WiiU is around 5 Million. Not the mention people with 3DS's seem to be the type that would shell out for portable games considering they are using a portable.
FYI: I am a massive Nintendo Fan and a fan of the Wii U and 3DS, Nintendo are doing some stupid shit and they are doing it often.
Yeah, I hope you didn't think I agreed with their strategy, but I think those are the reasons.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Am I the only one that thinks Sub Wars looks like it might be fun?
I will try it, since the first few missions are free. Couldn't hurt!

This is what I think as well...Nintendo is trying to drum up a reason for people to want to get the WiiU. I think that eventually it will be available to the 3DS, but they want to try and drum up a response and get people interested and engaged in having exclusive content on the WiiU. Much like the miiverse, it will be a roll-out situation.
I understand that people want it for their 3DS and everything, but it isn't like you are dying for content on the system.

I played a few rounds this morning, it was entertaining online. The singleplay is pretty much a demo, featuring 2 our of the 7 missions, to unlock the res is $14, which is a bit steep for what it is, to me at least.
The online is the first time I have seen open chat on a Nintendo platform, you type in via morse code, but it comes out as text for other players in the lobby, they will most likely remove it before too long. It would become style pretty fast though.

Although it might be worth buying a copy for potential flipping purposes if they make a low print run like Xenoblade.
I have to say, I'm pretty excited about it and it's the main reason I bought a Wii U, but to each his own.
Also, on an unrelated note, I am making my way through Wind Waker HD and loving it. I know it's old news to you guys that were already onboard, but this game already makes me feel satisfied with the purchase.

I was very surprised at the little improvements and how they had a massive impact on how good Windwaker HD really was. The pad motion controls make targeting with the grappling hook, using the camera and using the bow so much easier. Also, the ability to move while shooting your bow and arrow in first person view is such an insane idea for some reason...and it works wonderfully!

Is adding a character to a game such a huge deal? In all fighting games the media makes adding a character like some super exciting thing, I remember when they did this with Snake in Brawl and now with MAC in the upcoming Smash . Sure its nice but its not like a feature I want to pick up the game for.
All fightings games do this not just Super Smash. IIRC Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter all do this .
