Smile: Got a phone interview with CVS Tuesday.
Ticked: Car is dead beyond dead. Had to jump it for the third time in the last two weeks and finally got to Autozone to hear more devastating news. My dad and I thought it had to be the battery which would've been an easy fix, it looked bad, it's old, but nope... their readings were totally fine and it wasn't getting charge, so it's the alternator. That in addition to my cracked radiator that needs fixing eventually, I'm looking at another good $700-800 on my car, money I do not have.
This job, really, really needs to happen. I had another excellent talk with one of the CVS staff members today though and she honestly almost seems to be pushing for me, so yeah I really do hope this happens. Definitely need an inch of some good luck right now.

At least that's what my doctor told me. Anybody else see Dr. Mario?
Hope all is well buddy.
Still very sick.
Medication is awesome.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

Smile: I have the day off.
Frown: My old tube TV started to make a really loud humming/buzzing noise. Great.

My first real "not a goldfish" pet died.
Liberty "Libby", a rescued and rehabilitated Doberman died of massive tumors throughout her body.
It's a shame, it's sad, and it just sucks. She had a great life, but I hate to see my Mom and Pops in such a state. We're all bummed.

Might still be the battery. The cold weather tends to weaken any battery, worse if the battery is old. Throw a voltmeter on the terminals while the battery is hooked up in the car.Xeogred wrote:Ticked: Car is dead beyond dead. Engine off: 11.6-12.4 volts
Engine on: 13 Volts or higher
A Good Alternator
With the above readings I suspect a worn out battery with corroded plates. Any battery fails from the cathode to anode process over time. Basically you should see the volts go up a little with the engine running over the engine off reading. What does the charge gauge show on the dash with the motor running? If a light does it turn off with the engine running?

Autozone did check it with a voltmeter.

It can still be the battery. I've had many times where places say the battery is good, but I get another battery and then my truck starts. Some types of votlmeters don't tell when the battery is right on the line of having enough and running out.Xeogred wrote:Autozone did check it with a voltmeter.

I guess on this board you get more sympathy when a battery dies.
I'm kidding.

I have a TV that just started doing that, it sucks. It was a really nice TV, and manufactured as recently as 2003, so I have no idea why it's dying so soon.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Frown: My old tube TV started to make a really loud humming/buzzing noise. Great.

my ps2 just kicked on me, it turns on and the screen flashes but does not go to the bios screen. leading me to believe that it's simply a loose wire (mod chip) that i need to re-wire. so that's good.....but still i was intending on beating yakuza 2 today so i could move on to 3 later this weekend.....i guess that's not gonna happen.
