Does the internal layout of dungeon exploration go towards this goal?
Oh no, I believe it's just the overworld map. In fact, it's even tied into the plot. Like "Adol and his friends are the only warriors brave enough to map the vast wilderness of Celceta" or some shit.

I missed hugging a wall in some area, basically.

Celceta is done!

Oddly enough I did eventually reach 100% map completion..... but according to the internet there is more than one way to do this? I think there's enough "space" in the game to theoretically reach 100.2% (or 100.3%?) but the counter never rolls over 100%. I believe I missed .2% early in the game but made up for it at the end. But since I was past the "point of no return" I wasn't able to receive an award by revisiting the first town. Aww shucks. At least I got a PlayStation Trophy, baby!!!! Why am I talking about this?

36 hours.

Now I need to complete Mask of the Sun -a new theory- to round out the Ys IVs.

Expect a Games Beaten post eventually..............

Speaking of map completion, I have two major areas of the world map left to explore; the desert and the ocean. I've also got a few spots to fill in on a couple of the overworld maps, with the biggest one being the map in the lower right corner (haven't explored at all). I reached the next part of the main quest and exposed the main bad guy (he was impersonating a king) and died in the subsequent dungeon. I think I need some more experience to be able to successfully do that dungeon, so this mapping expedition should help in that regard, especially if I'm smart enough to save every so often to keep my experience. I've also stumbled upon several important objects as I've explored, so I'm sure there's more to find.

Still going through Pillars. I think I've done most of the side quests in Twin Elms, but I'm skipping the Berath one. Just... no. Got a few character quests I need to finish up, going to jump back into Od Nua, then make the push for the end. I'm at Level 11 on most of my big guns, Level 10 on the rest. Not sure I'm going to really bother with the bounties right now.

I did manage to kill the Sky Dragon, which is pretty cool. Was expecting to get torched (literally and figuratively), but other than one dicey moment, it was pretty easy.

Ooo, exciting. I took the peaceful route with the Sky Dragon but used one of my chars to loot everything around her in stealth mode. But yeah, it does sound like you're getting close to the end.

The bounties are for the most part only worth doing if you need the experience. The level cap is 12, so you probably can hit that if you end up doing the rest of Od Nua. The game also very nicely lets you know when you hit the point of no return AND creates a separate save right before that point.

Got these today. Chinese made English language repro carts.

Started Lufia: Fortress of Doom. Mainly to test the saves were working. Ended up putting about two hours in!

Enjoying it so far, although the intro was confusing as hell going into it blind...

And that's absolutely terrifying. It's going to be increasingly tricky to make sure one doesn't get burned with a repro on eBay, methinks. Is there any good indicator that tips off that those are repros, or do they pretty much look like the real thing?

Don't blame you for going that route with E.V.O., though!

Yeah, I did peaceful to start with, then decided to drop back and see if I could win the battle. I'd heard so many people say that one was tough, but I really didn't have much issue, so I just decided to stick with it.

That's what I figured on the bounties. They recalibrated the EXP in 1.05 to give less for those, because people were hitting Level 12 before the end of Act II. I figure I'll take a few of my folks that are behind into Od Nua to get them some EXP, or do some bounties. They're not that far behind, surprisingly. Do they share experience to some degree while at the stronghold? The "adventures" used to list experience percentage gains, but I haven't seen it since patch 1.06.

I was wondering that myself. The images on the labels look a little brighter than usual, but that was all I noticed after a cursory glance.

To some degree. I'm not sure of the exact numbers but they don't fall too far behind.
