Re: RPG Progress Report
I'm still getting killed by Breeder rats. I suppose I should do the reasonable thing, leave and kill them later but I'm annoyed now so I'm going to try until I hax my way through them

Interestingly, my strategy does include skulls...so that's what I was missing...Ack wrote:That's right, my friend! Skullfuck the enemy!

Re: RPG Progress Report
I hit level 8 on everyone, which meant I could now explore all of Wyvern Peaks and find all the fixed Wyvern encounters and blow through them before going back to town. I've gotten just stronger enough that what were originally 50/50 fights are now heavily weighed in my favor as long as I still pay attention.
I did a little exploring, ran into the Giant Scorpion of the Desert (one of four fixed fights that are designed as bonus bosses) and got my ass handed to me, and made another attempt at the Medusa Cave. The White Wolves were still a problem, so I think I want to try grinding to level 9 so I can hopefully wipe them out with my Sorcerer in a single turn (he gains new spells every odd level). When I first tried to make my way to Castle Doom it was White Wolves that were getting me, so if I can successfully do Medusa's Cave I feel good about being able to get to Castle Doom (which is the next step in the main quest).

Re: RPG Progress Report
How far into the game are you now, Popo? How much time have you put into it?
Re: RPG Progress Report
Time? No idea. No in-game timer and it's spread over so many sessions that I have no real idea.
In terms of how far, either level 9 or 10 is when the cost per level flattens, and I know I can get to at least level 13, as that's the level required for the final set of magic on your Sorcerer and Cleric. I don't know how much higher the game will let me go.
I'm also about midway through the main quest. I've got about 1/3 of the overworld fully mapped out and I could easily get that to 1/2-2/3 if I wanted to. There's a few areas that are kind of a pain to map; the upper right corner is a desert where every action (step or rotate) takes up 1 food of a max of 40 (and food is also used when you want to rest after a fight to recover). The lower left corner is a large ocean area. The ocean and desert both don't let you see further than the square you are on unless the square you are on is next to a non desert/ocean square, so you need to walk on every single square to know that you aren't missing some sort of island/oasis.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I've built my second robot in Robotrek. I had presumed they'd fight together on the battle screen not work on a rotation system.
The first boss (Metacrab) seems to be quite hard to damage so maybe I'm doing something wrong there.

The trick is getting behind him. Also what weapon are you using, and what level is it?Betagam7 wrote:I've built my second robot in Robotrek. I had presumed they'd fight together on the battle screen not work on a rotation system.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Ahhhhhh I got 99.7% map completion for Celceta.
In the final dungeon now. I went on an optional quest and fought (and defeated) what is supposedly the toughest enemy in the game...... So everything from here out should be a piece of cake, right?
