I don't know, I don't mind the episode recap since it's helpful sometimes but the first half of it is overkill. I love the few fillers that this one has supposedly had though, they're not boring like Bleach's. I used to love that show but filler killed it for me. I wouldn't mind more boss luffy or chopperman though....I actually really love that stuff it's a nice break in the action for me. Though I'm at the point where I do kinda hope where I'm at gives the other characters some much needed rest somehow. This is seriously the point where you know they're at their limit and a vacation of some sort is in order. Though I'm still at the point where I really really wish all these shows had a better streaming service to watch them on. Just so I could shuffle the shows I'm watching in order since one episode after another of one show is a little much and I miss tv type viewing....

How about Monster? I guess if we get picky though it's a bit more mystery/thriller/drama.

Manga fan?
Yeah this is why I let hundreds of episodes pile up thesedays. Honestly, ever since Enies Lobby the episodes have only legit been about 10-15 minutes long at most anyways. The extended OP, pirate intros, and recap usually take up 5-7 minutes on average probably. It's insane.
For the record I hate DBKai. Doesn't help that it looks terrible too. They "remastered" it with kindergarden photoshop effects and over saturation, cropping things, redid the Japanese dub for some reason (some VA's that have passed away were completely replaced), the new music sucks, etc... it's horrible. Also notice the huge gap between the end of Cell Kai and the start of Buu. Toei tried to play up the "this is the real ending" crap for a few years there. Yes, Toriyama had many planned endings, including the end of the first 13 episodes of Dragon Ball when they got the wish for panties. lol, Buu is a fantastic arc in Japanese and rightfully still canon... obviously with Super following afterwards. Toei is silly (and they suck, their budgets are so crappy).
Proud owner of the Dragon Boxes by the way.
This is a better way to go about DBZ:

I really liked what I watched of Monster, but I still need to finish it. I was kind of hopeful that the whole series would be released over here, but by the looks of it I'm pretty sure those dreams are toast.

Haven't read a lick of it, actually. I just feel that when you get to the point where half of the episode constitutes nothing more than exposition and recap, it's time to trim the fat.
Most filler doesn't bother me. In fact, some of my favorite episodes of certain shows fall into the category of 'anime-only' filler.
DBZ Kai's problems are vast, I'll admit (They waited too damn long to trim shit down.) But when I say
One Piece could use the Kai treatment, I'm just saying it could greatly benefit from taking a few inches off the top.

Monster is a masterpiece. Fingers crossed that the live action adaptation actually happens.

I still need to finish Monster think I had under 10 episodes to go before I ran out of steam. They just started to go all over the place after the Mansion popped up and it felt like they were just spinning their wheels.

The ending is amazing, but some hate it.
I loved the whole ride but yeah I guess the quality does bounce around. The first dozen or so episodes were extremely slow, before Tenma started going on the hunt. I remember being on the edge of my seat during the sniper arc in the 30's I think, that was maybe the most exciting part for me. But still some great stuff ahead.
Wasn't Del Toro attached to the potential live action adaptation?

I watched the entirety of Monster back in 2010 (74eps I think?) and overall I really enjoyed it. I do honestly believe a lot of fat could have been cut though, to create a leaner meaner 24eps Monster.

Finished watching Overlord. It's short at only 13 episodes, but I definitely enjoyed it. I thought it might be a bit weird with the main character being a skeleton, but it actually didn't bother me. Check it out if you need a newer VR anime to watch. There is also Fantasy of Grimgar and Ash and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? that I need to watch.

Fantasy of Grimgar and Ash is really good although it's really slow and tries to take a more "realistic" approach is how I would put it. The players are just average joes and it takes quite a bit of effort for them to even survive in the world as opposed to just being blessed with OP skills. Show focuses alot more on the bonds formed within the party then it does on monster slaying although the action is pretty decent at times.
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is also really good I liked the characters and felt like the animation and action were really top notch. Basically if you liked Sword Art Online you will probably like it. The only issue I really had with the show is it felt a little rushed towards the end, but definitely no where near as bad as Overlord.
Overlord really disappointed me they just went way to fast especially in the second half of the show and the plot really suffered for it. According to the people who read the manga there were a large amount of events that were skipped over almost completely and a lot of useful information was left out. To me it almost felt like the show skipped a season worth of content towards the end just so they could shoehorn that final battle in.
Another goofy fantasy anime might interest you is Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!) It just started airing last month . It's got the same vibe as a VR anime with a small party of adventures trying to make it in a kind of cliche fantasy world plus there are gamey skills and leveling and the main character is a shut in gamer. The twist is while most of the party is extremely powerful they all have major character flaws that make them nearly worthless. It is kind of a Harem show though if your not into that although it's pretty mild as far as Harem shows go.

Trailers are kind of crap since they focus way to much on fan service, but here is the opening.
