^agree w/ everything you said. SHM really does surprise people because the title and cover make you imagine it's going to be way dummer than it is. In fact, it's solid and well thought out. Good stuff.

It's almost Halloween, and my wife and I watched another horror film last night!

House of 1000 Corpses (2003) might be characterized as an exercise in style over substance...if it had any substance. It is all style, and despite what I had read about it, the film is not disturbing or scary. (It really wasn't that gory either.) Moreover, some parts of it were incredibly amateurish, but other parts show a lot of potential. Accordingly, I see how Rob Zombie has grown into such an esteemed director or horror films, and I look forward to the film's (supposedly much better) sequel, The Devil's Rejects. The movie, despite its subject matter, was also quite fun, and while I can't give it a glowing recommendation, I wouldn't discourage anyone from seeing it either.

prfsnl_gmr's 2015 LIST OF TERROR!

I love House Of 1,000 Corpses. I don't think Devil's Rejects if better. But they are VERY different movies.

I actually think his best film is Lords Of Salem though. And I can't remember if you've seen in Jordy. Knowing your taste, I think you'd agree with me.

I have not seen it, but from what I have read about it, I also think that is the one I would enjoy the most.

1000 corpses>devils rejects to me. Felt like completely different movies and characters.

Watched 2014 the town that dreaded sundown. Loved everything but the reveal. Also, the hills run red. Thought it was just ok, I likey the blonde though lol.

Sadly I can't say one way or the other. I've only seen House of 1000 Corpses. I enjoyed it though.

I LOVED both of them - my wife won't watch either again, so neither will I, most likely.

HoaTC has a great first 45 minutes - just oozes creepiness. There are some movies that just know how to set a tone. The OG Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the first Jeepers Creepers are similar to me in this vein, both had such well done intros and setting the stage for creepiness. Sadly, the second half of Jeepers was horrid, but I still enjoy the first half.

We're watching twilight zone right now. Safe for kids, but still enough to creep you out. Watched one of my favorites last night, "It's a good life". If you haven't seen it - please do yourself a favor; 22 of the most entertaining minutes you'll ever spend.

As an added bonus:
You'll get weeks worth of comedy out of it.

It's good you hit your sister, it's real good.

It's good you didn't do your homework. Homework isn't fun. Your mom and I are real happy you didn't do your homework. It's real good to skip homework, real good.

haha, nice Mike.

You reminded me, we watched some good Tales From The Crypt episodes last night. The one w/ Patricia Arquette as a farm girl being held prisoner by an old crazy couple and she ends up in love with a scarecrow, the one w/ the rock and roll club manager who has Sam Kinison as a conscious, among them.
